Feeling like the weight isn't coming off fast enough.....
I had my surgery Feb. 20th....talk about life changing event!
I have thrown up like 6 times. I eat maybe three or four fork or spoon fuls of food and I'm totally miserable. I have lost aprox. 24 lbs and I feel like I should have lost more.
My workout starts this week...now that I'm able to move around better. Not sure if I will lose more but I'm hoping to reach my goal before the end of the year. Before surgery I weighed in at 252 and I'm hoping to have lose 100 lbs total. I sure hope I made the right choice.
Racheal :-(
Rachael,
I had my surgery on 2/21/08 and have lost 30 lbs total. We all lose at a different rate. I have to admit that I have thrown up more than a few times. Either I am eating to fast or too much. I think too fast. Otherwise I am doing good...haven't dumped yet. Just keep up the good work and the weight will come off as long as you are making good choices. I thought I would have lost more as well but I didn't so that just means I need to make better choices.

Hi Racheal,
i am feeling the same way. my surgery was feb. 25th and i have lst around 24 lbs. i feel like i am able to eat more than i should and i haven't lost anything in almost a week. everyone reassures me that i will lose the weight but i am so paranoid that i will be one of those people who doesn't lose much weight. i need to start exercizes soon. i am afraid that may be why i have hit a plateu.

hi Racheal I had my surgery feb-22-08 I've lost 35lbs since then but have been sick alot. I thow up most of my meals. my surgeon told me to incorporate more foods in my diet at this stage. but I feel sick. so I'am going back to the soft diet. everyone is different in how they lose weight and the things they can eat. This whole weightloss experience has been trial and error for me I learn though my experiences and reading other post in the OH comm. Good luck to you and don't be discouraged your weight lose journey Hasn't ended it's just began. you sooooo made the right choice you'll see.
So glad you posted this. I had surgery 2/12/08 and have lost about 25 pounds since my surgery date. I lost 17 pounds the first two weeks and only two pounds total for week three and four and then week five and six I lost over 6 pounds and this week nothing. I too find that I get sick a lot. We went to disneyland this week and even though we took an ice chest full of food down to L.A. for me I found it difficult. I had two bites of a pizza (mostly scraping the top off) and then I just feel like it is stuck in the back of my throat. One swift burp and up comes this mucousy stuff. I began feeling fearful that I won't lose the weight. Honestly I think our weight loss is normal. We have all seen gastric bypass work so quickly on some people but quick to us as a spectator watching someone lose weight might be 7 or so months but when it is US that have the surgery we want it NOW!! (At least I do) Hang in there, you are doing great.
Michelle,
I was throwing up mucousy clear stuff daily and the Dr. said it was dehydration (believe it or not!!) As soon as I started drinking at minimum 48ozs a day, the vomiting stopped. Also, he put me on Reglan (Metoclopramide) to relax the stomach and help me digest. It has helped. Ask your Doc and I hope you feel better soon.

Surgery date 2/26/08
lbs lost to date: 27
I am so glad you posted this, I am having a hard time drinking and eating and throwing up the mucous way to often. Did your pouch hurt too? It seems like every time I eat or drink anything it hurts, (even the first bite) not tons but it is uncomfortable. I'll have to speak to my dr about the reglan.
