My Date is 2-29
Hi,
I have the same surgery date. I will be having it in NY State. I live in Ontario Canada.
Yes it is normal to be very nervous or scared before surgery. I know I am but I find talking to lots of people helps me. I am still learning and reading about my surgery to. Just to keep my mind busy. I am really wanting this and want the day to come faster but I am nervous too. You will be ok.
My date is 2/29, and I am suddenly feeling some of that, too. Luckily, I know many who have had the surgery, and knowing how successful and healthy they've been with it reminds me that my odds are simply fantastic! Yours are, too! Also, I keep reminding myself, that I am doing this for my health ... and that long-term, there are more risks associated with NOT doing it than with doing it. Good luck ... you'll do great!
Hello Tracy,
Thank-you for the post. Your right! My BMI is 73, and I am 49 years old. With that kind of weight I will not live very much longer unless something is done and quick!! I want to stick around for another 20 years or so.
Knowing so many people is going to be a great help to you. Your going to have all the wonderful support you need. Good luck on your surgery. See you on the other side or on the loser's bench as they say. First time I ever wanted to be a Loser!!!!
Hi there! I had to take a six month health educational class on the surgery. If you need ANYTHING let me know. I know a lot about it. I've been a part of an awesome support group, and went lastnight. They were able to help me a lot. I had a little bit of a breakdown lastnight. It's not so much that I am afraid of the after affect, but I am afraid of being put under. I had a bad experience with my last surgery painwise. I wish you the very best with your surgery. I'll think of you that day. Keep me posted on your updates. -Cari
Hi surgery buddies!
Im scheduled for RNY on 2/29 as well! Im amazingly calm currently. I was a wreck last week, but I just think "what's the alternative?" and that helps put everything back into perspective. I have also prayed and prayed for courage and peace about my decision and I believe God has answered my (and my family's) prayers.
I wish you all the best of luck and that God may grant you peace and courage as well in your life changing decision.
Alright, so I woke up yesterday with a slight cold. I ran to the pharmacy and picked up Zicam, and Zink. I've been taking them as directed, and woke up today feeling worse. I'm freaking out AGAIN lol. Will they cancel my surgery because I have a cold? I waited a whole month to be scheduled for my day. I can't stand the waiting process. I'm giong to urgent care this morning to see if they can give me a shot to knock it out of me NOW. Please pray for me. I'll update more later.
