Topic: RE: Updates Needed!!
Shelley,
This is a very common and difficult thing. I make sure I set my fork down between each bite. That seems to help. Also talking between bites helps to extend the time.
My 3 month is on the 7th and I have lost 51 lbs. I am very happy about the decision to have this surgery.

Hi Michelle,
As long as ou are getting all your protein and drinking all your water, it may just be adjustment by your body. If you are unsure, call your nurse and get checked.

Hello everyone! I missed your post last week on keeping this board moving so I figured I would start a check in for this week. Today I am 3 months out and am down 70 lbs! Better than that I have gone from a size 22 to a size 14! I feel great and love the way I look. I actually went clothes shopping for a few things this weekend and cried while I was trying on clothes. My husband asked me why and I told him it was the first time I actually enjoyed trying clothes on and not being disgusted with myself! I still can only eat no mor than about 1/4 cup of food at a time and feel like I should be eating more than what I am. No hair loss as of yet! I am keeping my fingers crossed, but i did just have to go to the dentist b/c i chipped a tooth, which I am sure has to do with my nutrition. So I hope everyone is doing well and would like to hear how everyone is doing and if anyone tried any new food this week!

Topic: RE: Whats everyone eating at this point?
HI! I was wondering the same thing. I had my surgery on Feb 1 and i try and eat just about anything, I stay away from lettuce or things that may be hard to digest, I def try and saty away from breads and pastas, now I have tried a nibble of breads but as for pasta not yet. I just feel like maybe I should be eating more than what I do. Some day sI feel like I can eat all day and others I don't eat at all. So I am interested in what other Feb surgeries and how much they are eating.

Hello February post-ops! I'm curious what everyones daily menu is like, what are you loving and what are you not tolerating well?
I had surgery on Feb 7th but had loads of complications, i've been on TPN and havent had food by mouth in months, so im starting from scratch but ready to eat "real" food.
Topic: What'cha all doing for exercise?
As we say in the South . . . How Y'all?
I am thinking about doing some other forms of exercise, and was wondering what you all are doing? They say to keep trying different things until you find one you love, then you will be more apt to keep a consistent schedule.
So . . . . What'cha doing? How many days? How long each day? Just curious . . .

Hi Everyone!
Glad to see some movement on the board!
I am almost 10 weeks our (Feb 20th) and I guess I am on the slow loosers bench. I am just 40 lbs down. I think for those of us that are frusturated we need to look ar how much we need to loose I have been told the more you need to loose the more you loose in the first 6 months. I started at 235 and have entered ONEderland which is a big accomplishment for me thought I would love to have lost more my now!
I had a 2 week stall and am having a hell of a time keeping things down. It seems it is more the last 2 - 3 weeks as I tried introducing new foods I'll eat it one day and it will be fine then the next time I eat it it comes up. If it was not for the 2 protien shakes a day I would be in trouble! I am actuall at a conference all this week in Washington DC (hotel conferences are all about eating & drinking -- which I cant do!) This is my first real test. I sent a case of Achiev One Coffee Drinks here (20g Protien 5g Carb 0g Fat 120 Cal) so that I could drink 2 - 3 a day while everyone is snacking on junk. They are nice because they look like little Starbucks Drinks so I dont get all the questions.
Let's keep this board going and good luck to all!

Topic: RE: Slow Loser??
Same here!! What is your total you need to lose? Mine is 112 lb. I've been told that the less you need to lose, the slower you do so. A friend was close to 400 and lost over 150 since Sep of last year. Another friend was at 256 a year ago and now weighs 117. Soooo.....I'll keep plodding along. As you said, what choice do we have?? Although, I still don't regret the choice I made!
Topic: RE: Updates Needed!!
Glad to see some updates I have wandered to other boards because ours is so boring some days.
Anyway I will be at 12 weeks on Wednesday- I had surgery 2/7- and have lost 60 lbs as of this morning, so including the 18 I lost since starting my program in November that is 78lbs. !!!!
I am glad to hear that everyone is doing well and sorry if you are not happy with the speed it is coming off. I know this isn't much but remember how long it took to put it on and how long you carried it. I was in the area of 300lbs for years. I can't remember when I weighed what I weigh now it had to be like 10yrs ago. So to go down even 30lbs in 3 months is huge.
Remember how strong you are to have taken on this journey and remember it will come off and your life will be new again.
Keep Smiling-
Jennifer
Topic: RE: Slow Loser??
I had surgery about 9 weeks ago and am only down 38 pounds. I feel like I should be moving faster. I got stuck on a 3 week stall and broke it by upping my calories to about 800 a day. But it's starting to slow down again. It gets frustrating. But I look at weight logs of others who have been successful getting to goal weight and they lost it slow and steady, too. I'm just keeping the faith because I don't have a choice!
