Topic: RE: Whats everyone eating at this point?
I find it hard to have a set diet, but the things that work for me are: Light & Fit Yogurt SF Jello Pudding String Cheese Protein Drinks (I try to have 1 a day) Soy meat products (Morning Star Bacon, Boca Burgers, etc.) Frozen fruit (in my protein drinks primarily) Soups (but I got sick of them on the liquid phase) Crackers (only 3 at a time) Cheddar Cheese Things that DON'T work Eggs Meat Pasta Bread In a day I try to do this: Breakfast: Protein Shake Lunch: Yogurt Snack: String Cheese or 3 crackers with cheddar cheese Dinner: Soy Meat/Cheese Snack: SF Pudding I don't always get it all in though. I hope this helps. Things are still limited, but only because I am scared to get sick so I stick to what I know. Good luck as you start eating again! Shelley J.

Congrats! You are an inspiration! It sounds like you are doing fantastic. I can't wait until clothes shopping is fun again! I am doing pretty good with new foods. I just have to watch the chicken. Sometimes I do well, and others I just God Bless You today! Terri

Hi there.... I am so sorry you had complications Heather...I can not imagine how hard it must be to no be eating by mouth yet! wow. For me my day goes like this most days: Breakfast: cottage cheese pancake with berry whipped cream cheese or oatmeal with some protein powder mixed in and a bit of milk Lunch: that one is different..if my dh is home we make a nice home cooked meal..usually meat in the crockpot...so I will have that and some gravy to moisten it..a bite or two of taters. Otherwise I will do a Mission Low carb tortilla with chicken breast, cheese and ranch dressing. If I am away from home I take some Revival Soy chips and half a protein bar. Supper: Pizzaburger or 8 All Bran Cracker with turkey pepperoni and a slice of provolone cheese or Flat out Bread for a pizza crust with sauce, cheese and turkey pepperoni. Right now those are the staples for me. I do two protein drinks on most day yet too. Snacks are usually Frigaros String Cheese. The most I can eat at one time is 2.6oz. Are you going to have to move thru all the stages of food--liquid, puree, soft and so on...? All my best to you and again I am sorry you had complications. Cathy

Hi all! I think I may be on the only one here with a VSG (vertical sleeve gastrectomy)...and I do hang out on that forum mostly. Anyhow my surgery was Feb 19(10 weeks out now) and I have lost 66lbs so far. I started out at 390 now at 324. I am so excited to be nearing twoterville! I lost a huge amount of weight in the first month though...50lbs. The past six weeks I am losing either 2lbs or 3lbs a week. That is just fine with me as long as it keeps moving down! I am able to eat all meats that I have tried so far and had nothing come back up. So I am happy about that. One night I ate to much taco meat and that made me pretty uncomfy for about an hour. The most solid food I can eat at a given time is about 2.6oz. I have stuck with mostly protein but can work in All Bran Crackers, Mission low carb tortilla and Flat out bread in there some days. I love some chicken, cheese and ranch dressing in the Mission tortilla and the Flat out bread make a nice crust for some pizza. I still do one or two protein shakes a day too. I guess my biggest problem is eating slowly. I am so happy with my surgery and hope that things continue to go down. One of my goals it to get into a pair of blue jeans again and out of the stretchy pants! Well my best to all of you! Cathy

I had surgery on Feb 7 and have lost 51 lbs to date. I average 3-4 lbs a week, but I am finding that the more protein I eat the more I loose. I have 1 egg for breakfast, stuffed tomato w/tuna for lunch and then what ever protein I can stand for dinner. I do fit in some veggies, but right now my diet is mostly protein. I am surprised that your doctor told you 2 meals a day, that isn't a good thing since you are eating so little. I don't snack in between, but I definately have 3 meals a day. Tammy

I actually bought the fitday software and have it on my computer at home. It is an expanded version of the website and works great! Tammy
