3 month is Sunday for me. I've lost 68 pounds, and my goal for my 3 month was 70 pounds so I'm close enough. I only went down 1 clothes size, but that is typical for people who are much bigger, our clothes fit even though we fluctuate a lot. So I'm was a 28 and now I'm a 26. 26s are loose, but still fit too well to downsize. I eat by the book for my surgery program, but I can't eat more than 2 ounces at a time yet. It just won't fit any more than that. I go to the gym 3 days a week before work for a half hour of cardio, and a half hour of lifting. Over all, I am very happy.

Hi Shelley and everyone, My 3 month mark is tomorrow; I have only lost 38 lbs since my RNY. I lost 27 before surgery. I am wondering why some of us seem to be much slower than others with the weight loss. I have been exercising like Rocky in trainning..LOL.. I do the treadmill, exercise bike, walking and now the stretch resistance bands. I do all this at least 5-6 days a week! I eat about a 1/2 cup of food at a meal; always focas on protein first. I drink liquid protein, I know I don't get in quite enough water. It is very frustrating to say the least. My hubby says I should be happy with my total loss of 65 lbs. since december. He said what is the big deal. I said he doesn't understand the whole concept; and the sacarfices I have made. He thinks it is all about looking good; no it is the struggle that I have been dealing with most of my life. Anyway I will keep pushing on; and right now I have been at a platuea for almost a month! Is a half of a cup of food to much? I am not eating sugar, junk food; or anything unhealthy! Just wanting to know if I am normal; and why others seem so far ahead of me. Sincerely, Judy R.

I eat anything except pasta and dry meats. Somethings I can eat more of then others. I am up to about 1/4 cup of food a meal. I have eggs in the morning, a stuffed tomato or meat of some sort for lunch and then whatever I am cooking for dinner that is protein or some cottage cheese. Tammy

Hi Donna, I am 3 months post op stuck in a stall and losing slow as well. It is frustrating espically when you see others doing so great. I have been exercising like a mad woman; and yet I won't budge. I know I don't drink enough water; and possibly don't get enough protein. Hopefully we can all encourage one another. Sincerely, Judy R

Hey Charlotte! That is so awesome! Water areobics is really good for the joints! After my little one gets out of pre-school, I think the YMCA is in my future. I too am scared about hurting my knees and back. I have had a terrible time with my tail bone since my surgery. It hurts when I sit down or get up out of a chair. But I am working out still. Don't be discouraged! My doctor does the same thing! I am scared to death about going back. Even though I am pleased a*****h at how better I feel, I get caught up with making every body else happy. The way I figure it, He is only looking out for my best interest, but I am the only one in MY body, so I will just do the best I can, and pray for the Lord to guide me the rest of the way. Hang in there and keep up the GREAT work! Terri

Right now I'm doing water arobic's at the YMCA two night's a week. I love it, because it does not hurt my back or knees. There is another class I'm thinking about taking, I'm just scared too. Because of my back and knees. It's a toning class. I might go one night and just see what they do. I got a bike to start riding with the kids, haven't started it yet. I do walk some. Where I work to get to my office you can use the stairs or the elevator. I have started using the three flight's of stairs two to three times a day. That is up and down. So that is good exercise. I have really weak legs and would like to get them built up. Charlotte

My 3 month surgerversary is on the 5th. I went today for my 3 month check-up. I've lost a total of 61 pounds from the start of all of this and 48 pounds since the day of surgery. I was happy with myself till I went to my appointment today. They just made me feel like I wasn't doing good enough. You need to get in more protein and you need to do more exercise. I haven't lost as much as everyone else, but I am getting my life back. My clothes are falling off me. I can walk up three flights of stairs. I'm off all but three of my medications. My life is returning. But they just made me not feel good about myself today. But the good thing is I don't have to go back till August now. Keep up the good work to all the rest of you out there. I had my surgery 7 days before you and I am down 57lbs. I think you are doing great but I dont know why your surgeon has only told you two meals a day, thats crazy. If your only eating small amounts, then you should eat more times. You also need to get as much fluids in you as possible. This is what I do almost everyday... Morning coffee with one scoop of whey protien(23grams) low carbs and low sugars Mid morning, start drinking fluids and have a low carb protien bar(sugarfree) a lot of times I just stick to drinking Lunch time, I try to eat pintos n cheese or wendy's chili, I have recently discovered that Taco Bell will give me an encharito without the tortilla and it is better than Pintos N Cheese, if I cant eat I try to get another high protien-lowcarb-sugarfree shake in drink fluids instead of looking for a snack in the afternoon or grab a handful of almonds or cashews Dinner, I just eat the protien part of what I have made for my family and see if I have enough room left for the veggie's. after dinner I try to keepp up with the fluids and alway try to get some s/f popsicles in as my snack, they are fluids too so it helps if you have trouble drinking a lot. As far as excersize, well my the time I work all day, get home and cook dinner, clean the kitchen and chase six kids around and get them into bed, well, I am out of time. I have a two story house so I like to think that I have a natural stairmaster(which is getting so much easier now). Dont forget, since you are excersizing, you are now building muscle while you are losing fat and it weighs more. Try measuring yourself and see if you are losing inches, dont worry about your stalls in weight loss because your body is just adjusting and it will kick back in. My Dr told me to have three meals a day and the first two are the most important because those are what keeps you going in the day. Your doing a great job and keep up the good work. As we say on the Men's Board...being a "Loser" is a good thing now!

Surgiversary for me too!!! I don't know how much I've lost because I refuse to buy a scale. I can definitely tell in my clothes (not ready to go shopping just yet - still waiting for the weather to change for good) I know I'm near 65 lbs lost. WOOO HOOO!!! I'm still eating little to nothing. I just don't have an appetite. However I do drink all the time. I feel like all I do is pee all day long. Congrats on your loss!
