Okay that is a great WOW....I'm 3 months out as well and I have only lost 44 lbs. I really feel like a slow looser compaired to others. I try and find the time to do some walking but I work full time at a school and then my son has soccer from 6-8pm. The time for the gym is hard for me but I really need to get there and do some leg weights along with arm weights. Everyone at my work says I look great but I really don't see it just looking in the mirror, I only see it from my clothes. I wear an XLG shirt now and between a 16 and 14 pants. I was wearing a 2X shirt and 20 or 22 pants before my surgery Feb. 13th. I like to see how everyone is doing so feel free to keep in touch with me okay. I live in Germany right now with my husband who is Military, we have lived here for 7yrs and have one left. Support groups are a little hard here, they meet only once a month and sometimes not even then.

Topic: RE: Slow Loser??
I am 10 weeks out, now, and I am a very slow loser. I am down 46 pounds, but have lost a good number of inches. I have not been able to get a good plan for exercise as I am running of elected office and must spend a lot of time door knocking, which is a good form of exercise. I live in a hilly area. I also do not get enough water or protein. I do notice when I up my protein intake, I see a jump in pounds lost. I am just not hungry and have to force myself to eat.
I am not sure why you are only allowed two meals per day. I am allowed to eat normal meals. Here is a link to my surgeons dietary guidelines. It might help y ou. http://www.bariatricsurgerypittsburgh.com/process/dietary_guidelines.html
Have you been taking all of you vitamins?

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
These are all great wow moments!!!!
I had a couple too....
First, I went to an OH event locally and got 7 bags of clothes from a woman who has lost a TON of weight. I needed them and was happy to have them. However, the shirts were all XL and the pants were mostly 16s. I figure - I'll get there, but was disappointed she didn't have any 18s which is what I think I wear now. The XL shirts fit perfectly and I put on a pair of XL capri's today and they fit too! I was so happy. No saggy baggy pants for me today! Although I don't fit in the 16s, I feel really good about fitting in XL shirts and XL pants. Does this mean I can shop at regular stores now????????? - I think it might
Secondly, my daughter, who is 12 and very self involved (if you have one, you know) hasn't said anything about my weight loss but this weekend, she asked if I had lost weight in my fore arms. She said they looked so skinny and muscular! (Really???) - Weird she noticed that of all areas, but whatever - I'll take it!
Thanks for sharing your WOW moments with us Charlotte - it is good to celebrate each step on our road to success!
Have a great day!

Topic: WOW moment
Well Saturday was 3 months from the day of my surgery. I decided I was tired of my shirts falling off my shoulders and my bra strap falling down my arm. So I went shopping for shirts and bras. I really didn't know what size to even try on. I got one size down from what I normally wore, but I think I maybe could have went down two. But I was too scared, doesn't that sound silly. Now my bra size was a real socker. I went from a 50 DD too a.............46 C! I could not believe it!!!! I knew they were going, but I just thought they were going down to the ground. Also about 2 or 3 weeks ago I went to Wal-mart and started to try on some capri's. Well as I was pulling them on they were tight before I even got them to my waist. So I took them off and didn't try anything else on. I bought 3 pairs of capri's at Wal-mart yesterday without trying them on, because I was too wore out. So today I was trying the clothes on for my husband and the capri's fit and they were a little big in the waist.
Ok next WOW moment. I signed my daughter up for T-ball in March. They had a sign-up sheet where the parents could get shirts to match their kids shirts. Well the largest shirt they had was 2X. I went ahead and ordered it in hopes that by the time the first game came I would be able to fit in it. Well we got our shirts yesterday at practice and I looked at it. And was a little disappointed, because it would proably be a couple of games before I could wear it. I tried it on tonight just to see how long it might be fore I could wear it. Keep in mind that before the surgery I was wearing 4X & 5X. IT FIT!
I still feel like the big person that I am. So when I can get into these smaller clothes it just amazes me. I had to share this with my friends on here. I would enjoy hearing some of your WOW moments too.

Judy,
Keep up the good work. You are doing great. It's coming off at a just right pace, not to fast. That way you won't get sickly. Just look at the life you've got back so far. And I'm sure there is more to come. I too know excatly what you are talking about and going through. But thank God it sounds like we both have great husbands to go through it with.

It's been three months now. I have lost 67 lbs now; but 27 I lost before surgery! I am greatful for every pound; but I am stuck on a plateau now. I feel I am a much slow loser; I am trying to do everything right. I exercise like crazy; today I did the treadmill at incline of 5.5 at 3.2 miles and hour for 40 minutes and burned 364 calories! A year ago I never would have thought that I would be doing all this. I go for walks with my hubby now; and we go about 3 miles! I also do an exercise bike; and stregth training with the bands. I want to tone up all the flabbies that are now showing. Still I look in a mirror and I don't see it myself as much as others seem to! I have a lot of people saying they almost don't recognize me; and how great I look. Sometimes I don't know how to deal with the extra attention.. My hubby says that he has a new wife to do things with now. I have went from a size 24 to a size 16; and non attactive to very attactive! It feels great not to get out of breath doing things; and not being in pain constantly! I have cut out my b.p. meds altogether, cut my diabetes meds. down from 2 whole pill twice a day to only 1/2 pill at night. I am still dealing with an ulcer & a stricture; tomorrow I am going for another EDG. I wish I were losing faster; and I wish I knew some exercises that would help me tone. Well I will keep trudging on. Good luck to everyone. Lets all keep the faith even when we can't see it in ourselves! Thank God I have made it this far. Sincerely, Judy R
Topic: RE: Updates Needed!!
I am 9.5 weeks out. I have had a steady weight loss up to this point. I feel so much more confident about myself, I weight 212, that leaves me at a 53 lb weight loss. I have trouble sometimes when the scale doesn't move, but i know that I am doing everything to the best of my ability and that just because it doesn't show this week, I am sure it will show in the long run. I know that if it was not for this surgery Iwould have never been able to lose this much weight!
I find that the only thing I have a major problem with is chicken! It just does not go down right no matter how much i chew! Now if it is in chicken pot pie style with gravy and creamy sauce it seems to be much more managable. i have had a few salads and I really enjoy them. It was nice to have some veggies in my body. I feel like all I consume is protein and water! lol. So when i throw a little ham on the salad it works well.
I have increased my work out schedule now that I am finished school for the summer. I know that will help with the weight loss....
I think that every pound lost is one step closer to our goals! no matter how long it takes to get there, we will eventually make it to a healthy weight!
