Try not eating carbs or anything made with a (flour)powder except your protien shake. No chips but salsa on eggs is ok. Make sure you measure yourself! Drink more water, if you hate water then mix some crystal lite with it. Try the new low carb drink "Fuze" it is great with only 10 calories for the whole bottle. Only eat protien, vegetables and some fruits. stay away from the dairy section cause it hase carbs and fat, no matter if it says light or not it still not as good for you if you are trying to lose weight. You can snack on cashews and almonds as well, stick with the s/f popsicles for your sweet tooth and did I say water? I dont know what the weather is like where you are but get yourself to a pool and start swimming, it is a better workout than just walking and you will lose more inches and keep some muscle that way. My dr. highly recommended it. These are just my thoughts, but it wouldnt hurt to try it.

Hello Donna,
My 3 month surgerversary was yesterday. I went to the drs today, and I've lost 58# since my surgery, 66# total. This past month I've lost 11# which I was a little disappointed with (just for a few moments). But I do measure myself every month, and I'm really losing inches...are you measuring..and if not maybe you should start because I know it made me feel much better knowing I've lost 7" in my waist and 8" in my hips so far. I'm going to try your idea of drinking a protein shake for breakfast because that did seem to help some last month..GOOD LUCK
LORI

Topic: Stalled (again!!)
Well, I knew I had stalled but didn't realize how long it has been until I was reading my previous post about being a slow loser (posted 29 Apr). I had lost 52 lbs then and.....I'm still at 52 lbs! I'm beginning to feel a like I'm failing. The docs & nurses all spoke of this being a tool and I'm wondering if I'm not using the tool correctly. I don't eat sweets or anything like that; closest thing is DAnnon light & fit yogurt every other day or so with a spoonfull of organic Grapenuts. I have 4-5 baked tortilla chips with about 1/4 cup of salsa, refried beans, or chili for at least one meal a day. I crave spicy things now instead of sweets.
Does anybody know of a good plateau buster? I've started drinking protein shakes for breakfast to up my protein--BONUS--I have more energy. Still have issues with not getting enough water. Always forget to drin****il my mouth sticks together.
Topic: RE: I need to get my blood work done soon what do I need to get checked?
I just called my primary care doctor to order my lab work...the surgen told me its time to have everything checked so I go on Tuesday the15th. I don't know what he ordered so I'm glad to see your list...I will have to copy this and see what they have on my compared to yours. You seem to be doing great with your surgery Brooke, I had my surgery on Feb. 13th. My start weight was 258lbs and I'm down to 208lbs right now...I can't weight to be below 200lbs. Everyone keeps saying I look great but I really don't see it except for the way my clothes are fitting...very big right now so I think its time to go shoppin for a few new items. Well I hope everyone takes care and keep us all informed on how things are going.

Hi Patti, I like thedailyplate.com, because they have pretty much every restaurant and name brand. It's very easy to use.
Topic: RE: Stuck at 27 pounds
I just posted this in another thread, but I'll post it again here. I am 10 weeks out and I've only lost about 30 lbs. since surgery. I agree, its frustrating. I try to think of it this way: as long as the scale is going in the right direction, and I feel good, then it's all worth it.
I worry, though, because it seems I can eat whatever I want and Ive never dumped. I also seem to be able to eat more than most people can. For instance, I can eat a whole sandwich (bread toasted), when most people can only eat half. I just hope my pouch is the right size!!!
Anyway, just keep plugging away, and hopefully for all of us, the weight will eventually fall off.
Good Luck!

Don't feel bad. Im 10 weeks out and I've only lost 30 lbs since surgery. I am working out a lot , however, so I think I may be gaining muscle mass. People have noticed a change, so I know something is going on!! And I feel a lot better, physically. I do feel like the world's slowest loser, though.
