Topic: RE: WOW Moment
Ive had similar moments. I just hit 209 and like you am SOOOO looking forward to when that scale says 1-something! I am down 54 and am wearing some 14's - WOW, that was huge. I was in a 22 pre-op. I have done some shopping at Old Navy, and other regular (aka: not big girl) stores and it feels good. I also bought a new bathing suit and when I tried it on, I didnt cry or gag - that was nice. AND I am willing to wear it in public, without a shirt over it. These little things are really adding up to make me feel better about myself than I ever have. Keep up the good work. Its nice to hear about other people's moments too.

Hey guys!
I have 3 WOW moments to share with you guys!
I went about two weeks without weighing myself and recently joined my partner at her doctors visit and decided to step on the scale. I was FLOORED!!
I was down to 203 - 4 POUNDS from ONDERLAND!! I couldn't contain my excitement! I only have 53 lbs to goal and I am over the halfway mark! Holy Cow!!
Then, I went shopping and ALL the 18s fit! (for a while it was only the ones that ran big)I am wearing size XL shirts too! Not 1X, 2X or 3X!! How freakin' great is that! I can now begin to shop at Old Navy again and some of the "regular" stores and I am beyond excited about that!!
Lastly, my partner told me today how great I look and that even if I didn't lose one more pound, I look fantastic! Holy Crap! Really???? That was such a wonderful thing to hear! I am blessed ot have such a supportive family!
I just wanted to share with you guys! I cannot express how grateful I am for this surgery and the new life it has afforded me. It is like I get a second chance at life!
Let's here your WOW moments & celebrate together!!
((Hugs)) &
Shelley J.

Just to add on, you may want to check in with folks going to local events. I got 7 bags of clothes from someone locally who cleaned out her closet before our picnic in the area. It is also a great way to save money and get some clothes that fit! - I had to break down and go to Good Will because all the pants she gave me are 16s and I'm not there yet, but when I am - I am set!!
Good lookin' out Amy!

I am going to try this because I am in yet another plateau which seems to last for WEEKS on end!! I am starting to feel like I'm doing something WRONG!!
Has anyone tried this with any successful results??

I just have to tell you... this was a very kind and thoughtful post. Heck, I even feel better!

Hello all I am almost 3 months out I had surgery on Feb 21. I went in for my 3 month a couple of weeks early I went last Wednesday and had lost 55 pounds. I think I am a slow loser but i don't have that much to lose so maybe that is why. I just have 122 total so I have about 67 more. I am sure I have lost something this week but I don't weigh often because it is discouraging to me. I can eat a lot more than most and that sometimes worries me. However I have a terrible habit of eating too fast and getting sick and throwing up. I did it tonight. Old habits are hard to break. I have had one stricture but other than that and occasionally getting something stuck and throwing up I have had no problems. I am not one of the lucky ones that dump, I can eat most anything. I have two new mottos that I repeat to myself daily,
"Just because You can Eat it , doesnt mean you should!"
Weight Loss surgery is my last chance at getting it right if I screw this up I am screwed. '
These two quotes I found here helps curb me some. I hope everyone is doing well. Lesa
Topic: Clothing exchange reminder
Hello everyone! So, I'm breaking my budget buying new clothes every few weeks for my shrinking body. LOL
I just wanted to remind everyone if you have any clothes lying around that you've shrunk out of, why not list them on OH's clothing exchange? It could really help a lot of people out and you may even find something on there for yourself!
I had forgotten about this feature on OH, perhaps some of you had too.

Have you tried the plateau buster diet? If not, here it is. On the Jan. board we've seen big losses kick started by using this high protein diet.
THE PLATEAU BUSTER 10 DAY PLAN (lest we all forget)!:
How to break a plateau
#1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau
#2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day
#3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day
#4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day
beef
pork
chicken
turkey
lamb
fish
eggs
low fat cheese
cottage cheese
plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?)
peanut butter
beans/legumes
You may also have:
sugar free popsicles
tea or coffee
sugar free soda
sugar free jello
broths/bullion (sp?)
crystal light drinks
#5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!!
#6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily

Hiya Terri ---
I am right there with you - my surgeon expects 90-100 pound loss by the 3 month mark - but like you, I started out with a pretty high weight - 390!! I'm 5'6". I am close to his lower goal - I am down 82 pounds but my appointment with him is 05/31!!!! AGH! But - while I do feel for those you may have offended...I sometimes get jealous of those that "only" (and no, I am not implying that it is in any way easier for those!) need to loose a 100-150! I have 240 to loose to get to goal!!!! So - like you said - with more weight you have to loose, the more quickly you can loose in the begining!!!
Topic: RE: Whats everyone eating at this point?
Hey - sorry to hear that you had some complications!
At this point my normal day consists of:
Breakfast -
2 egg whites
1/4 cup of shredded cheese
1 piece of deli turkey ripped up in the eggs
Snack
1 cup protein drink
Lunch
2-3 oz of yogurt
Snack
1 piece of string cheese
Dinner
3 turkey meatballs - plain, no sauce bread, ect. I pre-make them at home so there are no breadcrumbs either.
This is pretty much everyday for me. I sometimes wonder also if I can getting enough in or too much....great post, thanks!
