I take 3000 of Biotin each day and 2 flax seed caplets a day to help with my hair. I have lost some, but you can't tell and the losing has stopped.

I do want to know from anyone why am I so tired in the afternoon? I take me vitamins (Flinstones) one in the morning one in the afternoon, but what am I missing? granted I live in Houston, where the weather feels like its 105 in the shade and I walk a lot at work. Please if anyone is feeling this let me know. I will be going to my doc soon because I don't like this tiredness and of course he already has a laundry list of blood work I will need to get done.

Yep Donna,
We are all right there with you! I am losing mine too. Using shampoo and conditioner that plump my hair up; also take vitamin along with my daily called Boitin! You need at least 80 grams of protein daily. Also my six month post I found I was low in a lot of my vitamins; mostly B's and that can cause permenant nerve damage!!! Keep a close watch on your health. Congrats on your progress. And you will be a great looking mom of the bride.. Hugs, Judy R

Hey Charlotte,
Glad you are doing so well! Be proud of yourself. I am down 90 lbs since Dec 06 (lost 27 lbs before surgery) RNY Feb 5, 07. I went from size 24 to size 14! I still often wonder if I am going to make my goal which is still another 49 lbs away! I am struggling for every pound I lose (at least that is the way I feel)! I too have added new pic's to my post; so please check'em out! My hubby thinks I am fine right were I am now; he said your health and you look fine. I no longer use C-pap anymore, no more diabetes meds, no more B.P. meds; and take a whole lot less pain meds. I kept telling my hubby I still feel like the fat girl; and then one day we had a meeting function at Old Country Buffet; guess what I said (I FEEL REALLY SKINNY) ROTFLO! It is suprising when we go to a place like that and notice things we never have before! I exercise daily, treadmill 40 min., ex bike 15-20 min. I try to burn 400-500 calories a day. I still don't think for all I am doing that I am at the top of the class so to speak.
Wishing you continued sucess, health; and happiness. Hugs, Judy R
Topic: RE: How are my fellow SLOW LOSERS doing?
Hey Judy! I'm with you!! I may not be losing pounds that fast but the inches are going fast! I was wearing a 24 too and last week, I just bought a size 14 skirt and blouse!!! HOOOOORAAY!! And I can definitely see it too!!
So I'm thankful that I'm losing SOMETHING albeit I had hoped to be a lot further along in my progress. But I'm still on track for making the century club before my WLS anniversary next February.
Topic: RE: weight scales use them or lose them??
I do not I repeat DO NOT have a scale in my house, I go to my sisters house and weigh on hers, she only lives a mile from me. If I had scales in my house it would drive me crazy with the fluctuations that happen every month. I weigh myself once or twice a month that way I usually don't see the difference or stalls and such. STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALES

Well fellow February friends........how is everyone doing. I would just like to say that I am doing great. I'm not losing as much or as fast as some of you, but the 88 pounds that I have lost from my highest weight has been great. I have my life back. I finally made a new post and added new pictures. I hope to soon get a new avatar added too. I just can't really believe the diffrence in my picutures when they are side by side. I would love to hear from everyone because I know your 6 months is coming up too. And I would love to see new pictures also. Hope to hear from everyone soon.

Topic: RE: Hair Loss?
Hello Donna let me first tell you what a wonderful job you are doing with your weight loss. My hair has been falling out for the past couple of months and I hate it. I take biotin daily. I have no clue if it is working since my hair is still falling out. But I think I have new hair that is coming in. So we will see. My doctor had told me that I should be consuming at least 70- 90 grams of protein a day. I have noticed if I get in all my protein my hair stops falling out but a day a screw up it starts falling out again.
Also I have read that if you divide your weight in half that is the amount of protein that you should be consuming. I weigh in at 175 and when you divide that in half it is 87.5. I should be getting at least 87 grams of protein a day.
Hope that helps you some.

Topic: Hair Loss?
I knew it could happen but hoped it wouldn't but....I'm losing lots of hair!
Anybody else have that problem? I had my surgery on Feb 27th and have lost 86 pounds--started at 247 and now weigh 161. Anybody have any hints to help stop the loss before I go bald? My daughter is getting married in 2 months and I don't want to have to add a wig to the "mother of the bride" ensemble!
I don't exercise much and I know I don't drink enough water. I do drink a protein shake (made with hi-protein milk) in the am and have mostly protein to eat (beans, cheese, nuts etc.) throughout the day. I have a low-carb yogurt or sugar free pudding (made with hi-protein milk) in the evening. Tracked my protein for a while on fitday.com and usually hit at least 50 per day.
