My date is 27 Feb. Like you, I'm also nervous and very scared. I've been told that is normal. Overriding those emotions are excitement and worry about the future.
Do you have to do the 2-week liquid protein diet prior to surgery? I tried it last week for a day (to get a taste of the stuff--not bad actually).....and found it harder than I thought it would be. I wanted SALT.....which was weird as I never use salt on foods.
When are your pre-op appts? Mine are on Feb 12th....I'll be thinking of you!

Thanks for the shake recipe. The chicken was posted a couple of days ago. Basically it was to get a really high protein chicken broth. Simmer 4 chickens, a whole onion, and a couple of carrots in enough water to cover for at least three hours. I'll try to locate the actual recipe for you.
I received my actual break-down of the pre-op appointments (12 Feb) yesterday. My stomach immediately felt like a massive swarm of butterflies were taking off! It's going to be a rough 6 weeks!!

1, My surgery date is February 23.
2. Husband is a good cook.
3. Getting in protein is difficult at first, must concentrate on protein drinks.
4. Yes, planning on Isopure. It really doesn't taste bad, especially when really cold.
5. Yes, I do have a recliner.

My RNY is scheduled for 23 Feb at DePaul in Bridgeton, Missouri. I live in Illinois. My physician recommended carnation instant breakfast with "double milk" Double milk recipe is 1 cup skim milk and 1/3 cup of non fat dry milk. Mix all together. One "shake" gives you 21gms of protein. He recommends minimum of 5 per day. I didn't see the (chicken). Where was that posted?

Hello Charlotte way to go on the surgery date and Good Luck my surgery date is a week after yours. on the 12th I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers I kow everything will go great I kow what you mean about it coming so easily mine did too my insurance company approved mine in less than a month I was shocked my surgeons office had told me that it would take 6 to 8 weeks maybe longer with the holidays but I got the call this past week so now the fear has set in!:-o I am also new to this site and have found it helps the nerves some well good luck to you and everyone may you all have a guardian angel to watch over you during and after your surgeries :angel:

2. I dont know but I am sure my girls and husband can fend for themselves for a few days after all we are doing this for ourselves
