Topic: New to OH with surgery date of 2-27
I am new and never even know this site existed! I am so glad I found it, I just happened to be looking at my surgeon's site and find this link.
I have my date, February 27th and I am very excited about it. I happen to have a friend who is scheduled for the same day with my surgeon! How lucky am I to have a friend to go through all of this with? I started this process last January and have had a really rough year. My insurance makes us go through six months of monitoring. My surgeon and his office are absolutely wonderful. They know the ins and outs of all of this. We went to the support group on Monday and almost all of my questions have been answered.
I hope to make a lot of new friends who are also going through the same and can be supportive.

Met with my surgeon this morning. I will be joining the loser's bench on Feburary 13th. Hurray!!!!
(And for those of you that ask the questions about pre-op considerations? He didn't mention anything about a bowel prep or pre-op liquid diet)...(of course, I was already in the losing 5-10% of my pre-op weight...just not on liquids).

Just found out yesterday that I was approved for surgery and I Can't believe. it still has not sunk in yet that i will be beginning a new life in 1 month YEAH YEAH YEAH

well 1- date is feb5
2- my dear husband cannot cook, I will buy simple things and walk my daughter thru from my comfy chair, while she is in the kitchen at the stove...I'll freeze some spaghetti sauce ahead of time, for while I'm in the hospital, and the other night they can get pizza.
3- Yes, protien drinks too, of course. Doc wants me to have Isopure. But everyone tells me how good "Nectar" whey protien powder is....so I definatley will try some.
4- I'm already on protien powder now, that's the medi fast plan required pre-op
5-Some people say it's great to have a recliner for recuperation period. I don't have one but I want to buy a new one very soon. I saw a real nice brownish -burgundy leather one at Sams club...I just need to borrow a pickup truck.

I know a few of us here are going all around the same time....I'm going on the 5th, the day before you. there are others on the 6th & 7th that I know of and some multiples. I hope you hear from some ,

I am having surgery 2 days before you on the 5th. I was scared to death too, but now I have replaced my fear with faith. .....and I am a Christian. I just couldnt get peace about this for months.
I read alot of profiles on here, and every single one said they had no regrets, at all and would do it again in a heartbeat. ..even the ones who later had complications, still did not regret it.
Do yourself a big favor and find a support group or two in your area ASAP, you will find alot of help there....you'll meet people who have gone thru it, and you'll hear all the good stuff.
Do you read journeys? Do you know the before and after photos when you sign on and then click on "Home" the before and after photos come up., You can clik on any photo and that persons journal/blog will appear. Try doing that . You have time to get ready.
