After 41 years of dieting, 2 years of considering RNY LAP, 6 months of active research, etc. etc., I'm almost there. My husband's company's health insurance chose not to offer Gastric Bypass as a benefit to their employees, soooooo I have had to save up for 6 months to pay for everything myself. When I think of all the $$$ spent over 40 years (I'm now 54), $16,800 is a drop in the bucket. I'm very thankful for the support from this website.

My surgery is February 12th. All the best to you and my email address is: [email protected] Sure hope the time flies by for you. What disappointment you must feel. However, 7 days more will just give you time to focus on your new life and how wonderful you will feel. My surgeon suggested that I attend his support groups prior to surgery. I went last night (Wednesday) and it was very enlightening and I plan on attending at least 2 meetings a month after surgery. I would highly recommend that you see if you can find a support group through your surgeon's office and visit between now and February 19th. Take care friend. Carolann
