Topic: RE: Plateau!!!
I am having the same challenge, so today I'm starting the 5 day pouch thingie where you go back to liquids for 2 days, soft protein for 1 day, firm protein for 1 day and then solid protein for the 5th day. I have lost 78 since surg. day 94 since beginning the program and 111 from my highest of 289. I am only 5'3" and 178 seems like alot but I am in a size 14. I know that muscle mass has alot to do with it because it weighs more than fat. Dr. Still told me that muscular types and lightweights (go figure ONLY needing to lose 130lbs. is light) tend to hit more plateaus and sometimes lose much slower. I try not to get discouraged. Lately I've been having headhunger something fierce. I read about mourning food and dismissed it. It IS real and it really takes alot of self-talk to get over the moment it hits. Hang in there everybody and my prayers are with you.

Me too y'all. I had surgery (RNY) on 2/26/07. Lost 111 overall (91 since WLS process began). I was on a plateau for a month (August) and then only lost 3 pounds the next month (September). Frustrating! I have at least 117 more pounds to lose. I hope I can make it there.

I know how that feels to come to this site and see that everyone is doing so great. It makes me feel like i am doing something wrong.I know that deep down i am not. Don't get me wrong i do make some mistakes. I tend to want to live a normal life and i think that is why my weight loss has been slower. I did finally get past that 5 lbs .. Thank god for that. I am down to 191 as of last Monday. I am hoping to be 189 on Monday. I only count on Monday. I stepped up my workout a lot. I go at least 3 times a week. I guess that Plateau was good for something... lol

THANK GOD i'm not the only one! i had surgery 2/15 and have lost 86lbs. However, i've been at this spot for weeks!!! it's very annoying. last time i was on here i felt like i was the only one not losing and got frustrated with the site. however, now i feel like i'm not alone and realize that I'm lucky forlosing as much weight as I have. I often feel fat again. Does anyone have those feelings still? i look down and think....OH MY GOD IT'S COMING BACK! however, i'm a size 16 from 24 and know that can't be true. what's going on in my head?

I'm doing great! I haven't done a profile because there's so much going on, I just don't sit and focus. I read everyone else's posts every single day but don't stop and do one of my own. But I've lost 89 thus far (just passed 7 months) and feel great! I hope to be where you are in another month or two but if not, that's okay too. Without this wonderful tool, I wouldn't have gotten this far. I'm still scared I'm going to pull a pair of slacks off the hanger at home and they will be too small (as with past experience with weight), but it's so nice that everything either fits or is too big! I smile every morning when I get dressed. Keep up the good work!!!

Ok, I'm a little behind here...I don't post very often (although I do tend to lurk). anwho...surgery 2/13/07...starting weight 282, day of surgery 270...current 165...total loss 117...would like to lose 10-20 pounds more...we'll see how that goes. it's definitely slowing down, but at 7 1/2 months out, I think I'm doing great! Be well all!

My hair was falling out for a *****ad my surgery on 2/13/07), but I found after I cut my hair to a new style and also began getting in the protein that it stopped. It only lasted a couple months. Good luck!
