Hello I too am a Feb 5th surgery. Having RYN lap at the Elliot in Manchester, NH. My dodtor put me on a 2 week liquid diet. Lots of protien and low low sugar. I will be on it a week tomorrow. This by far has been the hardest. Not so much durning the day but when everyone sits down for supper. When I feel like munching I get some crushed ice and chew on that. Helps some. I have been putting protein in my pudding when I make it and also in my instant breakfasts...havent tried the soup yet. My biggest thing is coffee. Im trying to wean myself off it but man....its tough. Well we are almost there.....cant wait...Hugs!!!

I just wanted to say congradtes on the Feb.5th date thats my date too. I start my liquid pre-op diet on Sunday. The only thing I was told was to watch my surgars 13 and under the lower the better. And to try and get in lots of protein. They've got me on instant carnation breakfast, yogart, soups (broth & cream), jello & pudding (no surgar of course) I'm not looking forward to it. I'm having the Lap Band surgery and just received my surgery date of 5 Feb 07. Currently I'm doing a 2 week pre-op diet (less than 30 carbs per day) and have been having trouble making the protein count. Any suggestions?

Hugo, I was scared to death for a long time. Now I have peace....but I'm sure I will be very nervous the closer the time is. ....this surgery is so successful though, I don't think there is anything to be nervous about, as long as we have a good surgeon and trust God Almighty. If any complications arise we just need to catch it and get help right away before it gets bigger. God bless you Cissy
