Helloooooo - Anyone out there????
Come on folks! We have very little activity on this board and I hear tons of people saying that their surgery sisters and brothers are their main source of support.
What's going' on?
Give us an update. How are you feeling? What are you eating? Are you exercising?Any problems? How is the weight loss? Feeling blue? Let's get this board hoppin'!!!!
As for me - I am doing well - just started an exercise program. It is going well so far (only 2 days). I figure it is time to do something about the sagging skin - maybe fill it out with muscle (or atleast some of it). My eating is okay - I have to work to get in enough every day. My weight is coming off (-81.5 as of Friday). I feel like I have a new life and am thankful for it everyday!
Let's here it - How are yall doing?
Hello shelley,
well can't believe it's already been 14 weeks since surgery..I've had a few setbacks, but I'm finally feeling very good. I've lost 67# so far, unbelievable. I have so much more energy than before, and much more happier. I'm walking 3 miles 4 days a week, plus I use my elliptical machine, and my ab lounge..never thought I'd be one to exercise.
Hi there,
I am here!!! LOL. I am 77 lbs lighter since this started and feeling just wonderful. I am so happy with this surgery and the results are great. Eating....well mostly protein and everything works for me that I have tried so far. I seem to be averaging around 850 calories a day with 90 to 100 gms of protein. Exercising....I am not great for that one. I am kept busy with my three kiddos though..one is about to turn two--that is my daughter. My sons are 9 and 6.
My weightloss is slow (lost alot in the early and pre op weeks) and I seem to have this pattern. I lose usually something every week..but I lose for two or three days in a row and than nothing for six or so days. It is weird. But that is fine. For the past six or seven weeks I lose either two or three pounds a week. So that is fine. As long as it keeps going down down down!
Some wows for me...the steering wheel no longer touches my belly. I have gone down a size in pants and a couple in shirts. When my dh dances with me he can hook his fingers together around my back now. I am having to hook my bra on the second row of hooks instead of stretching it like a rubber band and just barely making that last row of hooks. Life is getting better and better!
I hope everyone else is doing great out there. It would be nice to hear from you..glad you started this post Shelly! Your doing wonderfully yourself!
Cathy
WOW! Three kids will keep you going - I'm sure you are working off some calories with the little ones!
Love your WOWs!!! I love the steering wheel one especiallly. I have enjoyed that moment myself!
So, what are we going to do to get the other February surgery sisters and brothers involved? Do we need to post on each state and call them out??
Congrats on your success & I hope to be chattin' again soon!

Hi there, I'm new to this board, usually I'm on the main board.I had surgery on the 7th of Feb.I'm down 50 lbs as of yesterday.I seem to be a slow loser compared to some, but I feel great and have gone from size 22's to mostly 14's.I really love that.I walk about 4 miles everyday.I haven't had any trouble with eating as long as I remember to eat slow and not eat too much.I love buying new clothes, but I have been out growing everything in about a months time.I really have become a clearance rack junky lol
Hi and Welcome Patti!
Sounds like you are doing great! Don't compare your loss to others - you clearly are moving right along. Size 14s?? How awesome must that feel! I'm not there yet.
I, too, have become a clearance junky as well as a Good Will junky! What are you going to do when you have to get all new clothes every month???
Again, welcome and thanks for checkin' in!
Ok - First wanted to say congrats to all those that posted before me!!! Seems like February was a good month to have the surgery!! woohoo!
Shelley - thank you for reminding us that this board was here....so nice to here from others who had the surgery the same month!
On to me....down 88 pounds. Started at 390 - week before surgery (although 382 day of surgery) so I am at 302 (almost in the 200s!!!! yayaa!) I am feeling pretty good so far, some soreness still....but I had a really large incisiong do to some complications (17 1/2 inches! ouch!) lol. But - foods are staying down just fine, a little trouble with getting my liquids in, but working on it. I have my three month appointment with the surg on the 31st, so I will find out then how the bloodwork is and will finally be off restricted excercise! yaa! I currently exercise about 30-40 mins a day and do lotsa work on the weekends. Have lost 57 total body inches (neck, legs, stomach, hips, ect) - gone from a 28 to a loooosssseee 22 (prolly should be a 20 now) lol. from a 4x shirt to a 1-2x shirt. I have lots of old muscle from lots of physical labor (moving hay, cleaning, moving heavy things, ect) so that has helped i think!
Eating....well, I like routine, so its very much thte same every day....2 egg whites for bfast which 1/4 cup shredded cheese, 1 piece deli turkey or ham. Snack is 1 cup protein drink, lunch is 3-4 ounces homemade turkey chili, snack is 1 light string cheese, snack of 3 ounce yogurt (work a strange shift so I have two snacks in there) then dinner is usually 3-4 turkey meatballs or 3-4 ounces plain chicken or something like that. Lol - yep, I'm a bit anal about it all.
So what is everyone else eating on a daily basis??? Sometimes I wonder if I am eating too much/not enough...where are you all at???
Hi Meaghan!
Thanks for checkin' in with us! 88 lbs is fantastic! WTG You have to be feeling like a totally new person.
I envy your dicipline and structure on your eating habits. I wing it each day accept for breakfast when I have a protein shake and mid morning snack is pretty consistent with Dannon Lite & Fit yogart. Lunch/ Dinner and remaining snacks are up in the air. I am meeting with a nutritionist in 2 weeks and hope he/she can help me get something more structured together. I don't eat meat (only meat alternatives) so I need someone familiar with those options as well.
Again, Congratulations on your success and keep checkin in on this board - I'd love to see us get more active here.
((Hugs))
