Food Question for Kruger Patients
I am 7 weeks out and looking for some better food choices- I am so done with cottage cheese, yogurt,Shakes Ect. I am not looking for anything illegal just something different.
I am curious what anybodies feelings on any type of frozen meals??Do you think that will be allowed?
I am thinking about American Chop suey too. I figure somewhat soft - By the way I have no negative reactions to foods so far. I eat chicken and turkey not pureed which I know is against the rules but I chew it very well.I have been making some cheese quesadillas at home and don't have a bad reaction to the torillas but am afraid to try straight bread.
Any ideas???

being 7 weeks out you should be able to eat any solid foods without pureeing them. What has your Dr. said about the diet you should be on? I am 5 weeks out and I am on any solid food except...any breads, noodles and tortillas. He said steer away from steak(pardon the pun) and stick with pork, chicken and turkey(kind of dry), fish and seafood. I havent tried frozen meals due to all the preservatives and added stuff. I dont know if this helps but I would get with your Dr. to make sure.

I am close to 5 weeks out and have lost 34lbs. My docter has me eating only protien and cooked veggies at this point. I can eat any tye of meat I want, just limit beef to twice a week. I cut it up small and chew well. I have not had any problems eating like this. I just started to eat the meat chopped (rather than pureed) and the cooked veggies were added this wek. Nothing is making me sick. I can tolerate everything so far. Now that I am able to add cooked veggies, I have alot of selctions. I have not needed to try frozen meals yet. I will on occassion when I return to work. I was told to try to eat 70 grams of protien a day. That usually puts me at 550-650 calories/ day. Sometimes it inches up to 750. I find that I am able to eat more when I work out hard. I am trying to control the desire to eat til I feel full. I am one of the exceptions - - I get hungry! Although, it doesn't take much to feel content. Tonight I will stuff zuchini with cooked ground turkey with Italian spices and chopped tomates. I top it with a bit of cootage cheese. What a treat after 4 weeks of no veggies!
