eating to much?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone is where I am at? last night I ate 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes, and 3 pieces of ribs, then this morning I ate 1egg scrambled, with cheese and bacon in it, and 1/2 of a waffle. It all went down pretty good. I have not lost any weight since two weeks ago. To date I lost 18lbs. Thank you Lee-Anne
Hi LeeAnn, I had my surgery Feb 15 I am still on pureed foods and wont advance until this Friday. I think that is too much or maybe it is just what your eating? What did your doc say? I am not trying to get on you, but maybe try to go back to the basics for a couple weeks? Sorry I can't offer much advice and I hope things turn around for you.
I agree with the other post. I am 5 weeks out and am still on a soft diet. I could have the eggs but not the bacon. Also I was told in 2.5 more weeks when I can eat anything I should focus on a low fat diet. Maybe just change some of your choices. Also how is the exercise going because I see a major difference in what I am loosing on days I walk and days I lounge.
I see you are like 3-4 weeks out- 18 lbs is still fabulous and you need to celebrate the pounds lost and relax. The rest will come off.

I agree with the other posts. That is alot of food for such a short time post op. I am 6 weeks post op and can not eat more than about 1 1/2 ounces of food at a time. I would suggest going back to pureed foods or even liquids. You don't want to stretch your tool out. Are you rny or lap band that could be the difference too. Good luck and congrats on your loss!

Well, I was 6 weeks out yesterday.
I've been on a "regular" food diet for over a week. I can eat "as tolerated".
Maybe it's what you're eating, but it certainly doesn't sound like too much, unless you're eating like that most of the day, you know?
I can take 6-8 ounces at mealtimes, and 4 for snacks. Nothing pureed or blended, just chewed really well.
Good luck hon, and talk to your doc or nutritionist!

I'm 4 weeks out and I eat about 1/4 cup of food in total 3 times per day. Plus I have about 10 ounces of protein drink once per day and then I focus on my water the rest of the time.
I find after 1/4 cup I am so full I can't eat more. When I was on liquids only...I never felt full, so I am glad to be back on solid foods because it gives me that full feeling.
I don't think I would be adventurous enough to try a waffle yet...I really haven't had any bread type product since surgery. I have had wheat thins (2 or 3 at a time) which my Nut said were appropriate. I don't think bacon will be in my plan at least for 6 months.
I've tried to stay with very lean meats...ground turkey, 93% lean ground beef, lean pork tenderloin, baked fish (like halibut) or grilled chicken. I've done well with those, but of course I can only tolerate very small amounts.
Good luck...plus remember...it is normal to hit a plateau too after initial weight loss.

I am 6 wks out and I am keeping track of everything that I am eating. I track the number of calories, protien and my liquids that I consume each day. Doing so helps me realize that I am not overdoing it. I am supposed to eat 70 grams of protien and generally that omes out to about 600-700 calories per day. I started eating cooked veggies yesterday and find that I can eat my required 3 oz of meat and have room for veggies. If I wasn't journalling and counting calories, I think I would be unsure and feel guilty at times. I have lost 33lbs to date, but have hit a plateau in the past week. I need to be more commited to daily exercise.
