KEWL!! My first WOW moment!!
I'm 2 weeks out and (according to my scale) I've down 22 lbs. KEWL! I had the first of what I hope are many WOW moments. It may seem like a small one but at this point ANY victory is still a victory!!
I know I've lost weight, but the other day I was thinking I can't really feel it too much in my clothes or see it in the mirror. So my first WOW moment today came totally by surprise! This afternoon, I took my daughter to the orthodontist's office and they have a strict policy about cell phones in their office. But wouldn't you know it, while we were waiting, I got a VERRRRY important call (one I'd been waiting on all day).
So I went out into the open area from my Dr.'s office to take the call but there was no place to sit. Without thinking, I found a quiet corner and sat down on the ground with my legs folded (as my daughter calls it) PRETZEL LEG style!! I was so engrossed in my conversation that it wasn't until I was halfway through that I looked down at my legs and noticed that I was sitting in a position I probably haven't been able to do in a very long time!! I was amazed!!
Then, to add icing to the cake, when I got home later, I sat down on my couch to read the mail and (once again, without thinking) I CROSSED MY LEGS COMFORTABLY!! I remember a time when I was able to cross my legs comfortably and I remember (all too painfully) the day when I noticed that I had gained so much weight that I was no longer able to do that.
WAHOOO!!!
At a support group meeting once they asked what made us have surgery other than health reasons or family. Mine was to be able to cross my legs again. Girl for the pass three weeks I have been crossing them every chance I get. It is the best feeling in the world to whip that leg over the other one and be able to breath. Congrats and trust me there are very many more WOW moments to come
