I am SOOOO Tired!

I am feeling better as each day goes given that I am still really only 1 week out. But I am sooo darn TIRED!! I got up this morning and caught up on some e-mail and bills and 3 hours later, I'm pooped and needed a NAP! When does this phase go away? It's a shame because today was such a beautiful day outside and I wanted to go outside and just hang out with my family outside but I just didn't have the energy. I expected to be tired, but I'm already OVER this phase of things. I would like to get through one day without needing several naps!

I am right there with you. I am 18 days out and can hardly stay awake. I can't do any of the fun things my mind wants to do. I don't hurt and I'm not nauseated, but I am sooo fatigued. I can't believe how tired I am. And of course, at midnight, I'm up and can't sleep. I really want to just feel normal. I guess I can be patient but this is really hard.

I know just how you are feeling, so believe me you are not alone. I 'm a month post-op and I still get my times when I'm feeling tired. I called my doctor and I was told that this is normal, so hearing that did reassure me . We all just had major surgery and we are loosing weight on a daily basis, and at the same time trying to keep all our fluids, protein....etc...so I guess we just have to take it one day at a time. I wish eveyone well this week. Have a great one!! Stephanie

Same here my surgery was Feb. 5th. I can't keep up with my lifestyle anymore. I work for 4 hours and I'm ready for a nap. Went and got groceries today, wore out by the time I got home. I am tired and have no energy. But then when I lay down I just lay there for a while. You'd think if I was so tired I would pass out. Well I don't. And I'm only sleeping a good 4 hours at night. The rest of the time I'm tossing and turning. But I do know they said this was all normal. I don't remember what they said on how long it last. But I will find out when I go for my post-op visit on March 21st. Everyone just try and hang in there, that's what I'm trying to do. Just taking one day at a time. Good Luck, Charlotte

I'm a January girl (6 weeks post op) and I am still worn out by evening. I have a girlfriend who is 1 year post op (RNY) and she told me it took her 3 months to get her energy back. I think initially it's the surgery itself that wears us out but after that your body is still adjusting to the small amount of nutrients you take in even though you take vitamins. I feel great for the most part, but come 8 or 9 pm I'm worthless...and I have to take naps during my lunch hour at work just to stay focused when I am awake. Lori

I know someone told me how good people start feeling. So I was so upset when I felt bad for the first week. Now slowly but surely I am feeling better. Cindy

YAY! Im so thankful this is normal, I was starting to get a lil worried. I am exhausted all the time and then about 4am Im laying staring at the walls but not to worry lol, a few hours after that Im sleeping like a baby again and take lil cat naps throughout the day. My Doc also said, just hang in there you will experience a huge spike in energy, but Im 5 weeks post-op and just not feeling it yet tho I feel SO much better Hang in there.
