I had LapBand surgery on Feb 15th, at 320 lbs. At my 2-week follow-up I was 306. And at yesterday's appointment with the dietitian, I was an even 300 lbs!!!! Wahoo! 20 pounds in 20 days! I know there are those of you loosing faster than me at this point, but I am thrilled!! It would have taken me 3 months to get here on any of the other diets I've tried before (if I even reached the 20# mark at all), and then the dreaded plateau would begin... May that not be the case now!!!! With my jubilation proclaimed, I have to say...I don't notice one bit of difference having lost those 20 pounds. I'm weighing in wearing the exact clothes I wore at my last pre-op appointment. And they fit exactly as they did 3 days before my surgery!!!! Gurr! I thought 20 # would make a difference somewhere, but I look & feel just like I did before! Are y'all noticing any changes yet -- in the way your clothes fit; your appearance; your energy level? How much did you loose before you started to see those changes? -- Suzanne LapBand - Dr. Terracina - Newport News, VA Banded 2-15-07 at 320 lbs / BMI 58.5 / 32W Current: 300 lbs / BMI 55 / 32W Goal: 125 lbs / BMI 23 / Single digit dress size

Hi there! I am 2 weeks and 1 day out and I am down 22 pounds so far! To be honest, in my jeans and things like that, I don't notice much of a difference, but in the more pajama and sweat suits that I wear, I do! I was disappointed when I put my jeans on and they felt the same, but believe me, there has to be a difference there. Congrats on your weight loss. I say definitely tgake pictures, and look at yourself before and after.. and you will notice a difference. I didn't until I took pictures. Good luck and congrats on the weight loss thus far!!!

Great job!!! I'm 10 day out, had the lap RNY and am down 22 pounds, also not noticing much of a difference. I started out at 337 and am down to 315. Like you, I was completely annoyed when I put on my jeans, but I'm sure one of these days in the not so distant future we will start to see/feel major differences. I'm still a little achy from the surgery, so I'm not feeling my energy level improving yet. I'm still on a liquid only diet, so I'm hoping with the added soft foods my energy increases some. Hang in there, I'm sure you'll be feeling the difference soon!

Man, this is where this board is a wonderful thing for me. I am 17 days post op and 20 pounds down. I want to congratulate you on your 20 pounds also! My husband said to me, "when was the last time you lost 20 pounds? It was such a big deal when you did that a few years ago!" 20 pounds is huge and should really be celebrated! What I am sad to see but happy to not be alone is that my jeans don't fit any different than they did pre-op. I don't mean to sound twisted, but it makes me feel normal to know that others are feeling the exact same way. I will say this, I notice a difference when I look in the mirror without clothes. Still don't like what I see yet but it's an improvement (that I don't get to share with anyone!) Otherwise, there are two places I've noticed some weight loss. One is my face just a little (praise God!) and the other for some weird reason is my knees. Go figure! I believe the next 20 pounds will bring an amazing difference and a new wardrobe! As far as enery, I am having a really hard time with that one. I worked all day (first day back) on Thursday and pushed myself thru, but yesterday for the entire day I was a wet dish rag. I have slept soo much. I'm really worried about this energy thing because I work full time and have a 1 yr old and 3 yr old at home. I really, really don't want to fall back to energy supplements but I'm nervous about this fatigue and having to work. So I'm there with you! Thanks for posting this. I feel better about where I stand. Congrats on your success! ...Jill

I'm 17lbs down 16 days post op. There is only one pair of pants that I have that show any sort of difference in feel, and oddly they are the newest pair of pants I own. I wonder if this is because all my "old" stuff is shrinks so much when I wash them. Anyway, as it turns out I have a wedding to go to this Friday and I was FLABERGASTED to find out that I fit into a 28 plenty well (I was a 32 last time I went shopping, putting me out of most Plus size stores for my area.) Sometimes it's a fresh perspective that can really show you. Good luck. I too had the lap band and love hearing other lap-band recipients stories. Thanks for posting.
