Today is my 1 month anniversary since my Open RNY on 2/6
HI everone
Today is my 1 month anniversart and i get to start meat--I am making a chicken in my junior showtime Rotisserie and it always comes out juicey--I am gonna add some chicken broth to it as i puree some.. I am a little nervous tho as I cannot keep Egg Beaters down and not sure if meat is gonna work for me right now--But i am willing to try--if it does not go down and settle well I will wait another week or 2.. I am trying hard to get my protein in--But it seems to be getting harder as time goes by--I am so sick of the same foods tho.. I am glad that i found thid message board of others who have had their surgeries in FEB 07--as we can all celebrate our Re-Birth Day together every Year!
Prayers to you all--Susie SMith from NE PA
Hi Susie,
Tomarrow is my 1 month too. I know what you mean about getting all your protein in. It's hard for me too. I am now eating things like cheese and cottage cheese. I try to eat things that have some protein in them also..pinto beans and cheese is a good one too. I'm sure things will hold down better as you progress more. I'm having a hard time not taking too big of drinks..ouch! Are you eating creamy soups? They always go down pretty easy for me now. Well I wish you all the best on your new life...just keep thinking like I do..It's only going to get better!! Take care..Jennifer
Kim,
The first 2 weeks are the hardest and it only get's better from there. It's hard to be on liquids even if it is cream soup. Also, your nervous your going to screw something up Hang in there and you'll see what I mean I was eating cottage cheese after 2 weeks with no problem.

creamy soups went down just fine.at two weeks out i was still pretty limited.. i made sure to stick to what i suppose to take in..i only wanted everything to heal really well before i started putting different things in my pouch. i know how hard it is..but it does get better..u just have to try to be patient. After my two weeks i started having plain cream of wheat with sweet n low , fat free light yogurts, and the cream soups. oh and lots of sugar free popcicles. the real fruit bar brands are the best..i find them at albertsons. I didn't start cottage cheese until i was going into my 4th week. Big sips still kinda bother me. sometimes i just want to take a huge drink but can't. I have to take this huge pill for my gall bladder and oh man does it hurt when i gulp tha****er...but it's getting better. if you have anymore questions feel free to ask...take care and best wishes to you on your new life!!
