Hi everyone, I'm new here...

but I've been reading the posts to get me thru...THANKS TO ALL WHO POST!!!! I had my surgery on 2/28 and so far everything is going well. I did my band here in Frankfurt, Germany because i found that it was about the same price as Mexico an other such places: 7000 euros (includes 1 night in hospital)= approx. 9000$ my plane ticket was less than 500$ and I stayed at an awesome hotel. Total trip, just over 10G's, worth every penny. Anyone who wants info let me know. In the meantime, just wanted to introduce myself. thanks for the welcome Brooke, so nice to hear from you. Everthing has been going really well, no unsual effects or reactions. Although I have been panicky about thrombosis, my uncle is a Dr. and sort or put a scare in me about it. Getting up and walking around every hour or so...plus takiing shots for it. How are things going for you? All the best to you!

Hi Sally, I just had my surgery on 2/27. So glad things are going well for you. Like you, I had to pay out of pocket for my surgery too. You got a great price. I took out a loan, mine was a $21,500 for everything. I agree, reading the posts really help to get through the rough times, makes you realize that you're not alone in all you're going through. Hey Julie...so we're just a day apart! Everything seems to be going well so far just sore around the stomach and my muscles hurt (you too?) I shopped around and I realized that I was getting a good deal. I took out a loan too...I knew Mexico was an option all along but Germany came out of no where and they have great reputations. Originally I was going to do something called the gastric balloon, which is not FDA approved. Not the best option though since you don't loose a ton of weight on it and I'd like to loose 130pounds. My healing has been good so far, thank G-d, just resting and taking time off work. I'm back in the states now (NYC). The flight was kind of rough...so since then I haven't even left the house!
