Pls Help!!! how much should I be eating?
Hello - I had my lap band on 2/16 and am doing well, now. I have a question abt the qty of food i should be able to eat.
I am currently consuming 6 oz protein shake in the morning, 6 oz soup afternoon, and 1/2 cup of refried beans for dinner. I might even sneak in a 1/2 cup serving of pudding later.
Is that a lot? I am loosing some weight but am scared that I am eating too much.
Thank you soo much for responding. You do not know how much it means to me to see that someone even looked at my post. I have had little luck getting support on this msg board and the TX msg board. People rant and rave abt the outpouring of support that is available here and I have not seen it yet. I am soo upset right now, I am in tears.
I have tried to call my dr but they are sooo busy I have to leave messages for the nut to contact me. I fully understand that , so I am here for help!!!
Thanks again, Cissy!
You should be attempting to get in at least 70 plus grams of protein in a day depending on your height (I am 5'7 and need 96 g) It doesn't look like you are getting enough protein in. I would be eating a Protein shake and a cottage cheese or yogurt in the morning, a lunch of some sort of meat or fish, and some veggies, and for a snack another protein shake and then dinner, more meat and veggies. You should be getting at least 64 oz of water. Plateaus come from metabolism slowing down to conserve what little you are eating. Eat more and your weight will go down. You should at least be eating 800 to 1200 calories depending on what you NUT told you.
I was told 70+ gms of protien daily, 3 8oz protein shakes, 3 small meals and 700-800 calories. What a difference a doc and NUT makes!
Are you eating 6 oz. of soup at one sitting? I was told no more than 3 oz's at the most at one time. Remember your stomach is only the size of 1 oz. I would try cutting that down and try to get in at least another protein shake.
