Home from the staple removal with my first 'complication'
I was having a text book ideal surgery up until yesterday.
I went to have my staples taken out from each of the six small laproscopic sites and when the staples came out of the one on my side it popped open and spilled out fluid.
Heads up that I'm told this is COMMON.
It isn't infected, but they don't want to try to reseal it with anything because they don't want to stop the drainage from it, so I now have a 1 inch open hole in my side that is about an inch and a half deep that I have to pack with gauze 3 times a day for two weeks.
After 2 weeks it should mostly close clean. Visually it is super gross.
Heads up on this common complication.
