New to site with a date

Just wanted to introduce my self to everyone. I'm new to the site. I just found out about this web site last week and I love it. It's so helpful and makes me feel like I'm not alone. My surgery date is Feb. 5th. I'm excited about this but a little scared too. Because I have not meet my surgeon yet or the nutritionist. I have an appoinment with the surgeon next week Jan. 17th. As of right now I do not have an appointment with the nutritionist. I'm having my surgery at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN. So far the office staff has not been very help to me. I live two hours away and have requested later appointments, but they give you what they want. Plus my husband likes to go with me and he works third shift so he does not get off till 7:00 a.m. I've stressed and stressed over some of the things this place has done, but I've decided to put it all in God's hands. I believe the surgery was meant to be. It's been such an easy process for me. Almost too easy. So I know it was meant to be. No more worries. Charlotte

Hi Charlotte, welcome to the feb board. You are having surgery the same day as me, but mine is up here in New Jersey. Yes, its nervwracking, and I think it is God's will also. We all go thru alot of different emotions. I was scared of the mortality rate, leaks , blood clots, and the whole nine yards. I got alot of support on here (OH) I think there are some others on our date too.My hubby also works third shift. He never has gone with me yet to any appts or anything. Tomorrow night he is supposed to go with me to support group. (I hope) Sorry you are having such a problem with your doc's office. Hang in there! Take care. Cissy

HI Charlotte!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome. This board ROCKS! - I'm glad you found it. There is tons of support and great advice. We have the same surgery date as well. It is coming up! I got REALLY anxious and scared right after getting my date and thought I was going crazy - I wanted this - now it was happening and then I FREAKED!!!! Now I am much more calm and at peace with my decision and the process. Hello Charlotte way to go on the surgery date and Good Luck my surgery date is a week after yours. on the 12th I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers I kow everything will go great I kow what you mean about it coming so easily mine did too my insurance company approved mine in less than a month I was shocked my surgeons office had told me that it would take 6 to 8 weeks maybe longer with the holidays but I got the call this past week so now the fear has set in!:-o I am also new to this site and have found it helps the nerves some well good luck to you and everyone may you all have a guardian angel to watch over you during and after your surgeries :angel:
