HEY! I HAVE MY SURGERY DATE.

I just got my call. This has been a long road for me. My surgery date is feb. 7 2007. My husband is a nervus wreck . His wife before me died one week after her WLS. Her's was in 2001. She came home and did'nt walk ..Did'nt even get out of bed. She died from a blood clot. I am so excited , but how do I help my husband. Anybody out there..

Wow. I think it's important for both of you to really lean on each other right now. Try to ease his fears. Has he gone to any appointments with you? Maybe talking to your surgeon will help him. Good luck with everything!!!

First, congratulations on your date!!! I know how good that feels!! (I'm on the 5th) Re: your husband. I can imagine he would be very worried. I'm sure you are reassuring him that you will be up and walking right away. Perhaps there have been advances in the surgery or perhaps your doctors statistics for complications are far better than her doctors? Anything you can do to reassure him it is different this time - different for you. Take care and as Meghan said - lean on each other and keep the communication open. Congrats & welcome to the Feb. Thanks for the reply, yes he has been to every appointment I have been to . He has been great, we do talk , but I know that he does'nt tell me everything. My Dr. Has talked to him. Just pray for me.

Congradulations!!! My surgery date is Feb 12th. I'm very excited and nervous of course as you are. My husband has been very supportive but, I know he is very nervous. He lost his first wife. So he' over protective sometimes. I think that we just have to pray that our husband believe we will be fine. BEst of luck to you. alisa
