If you had surgery in February 2006, you are more than welcome to participate in our chart [see my profile for the older ones]. I will make a post at the end of July asking for weigh ins, at that time just respond with your surgery date, your start weight, your goal weight and what you way on August 1st [don't send it to me now or I'll just lose it].
What are you challenging yourself with this month?

Thanks for posting and for the encouragement! I am going to do it! I have been really slacking on the exercise and just can't seem to find the time to do it. I will be more intentional and maybe I can get out of the 170's. I have been stuck at 174 for a month. Thanks again! Good luck to all of us.

How would I become a part of this challenge. You stated that you have been doing this for 18 months. Is it to late?

Glad to see you, Cathy. Sorry you are having weird troubles. Is following the meds not helping at all?? [IIRC Nexium can take a while to work well]. I don't have a clue, but my advise is to keep on top of it with your docs, second opinions and all that, until you have an answer that helps you. Best of luck.

August first will be our 18 month weigh in for the STATS chart.
We have 30 more days to make that date mean we've arrived and are ready to abandon the honeymoon and live life laughing [because we're healthy, because we're here, because we did it].
I challenge you to shake it up this month.
Do what you've been doing well, but kick it up a nitch or is it a notch? Look at what you've been doing poorly and cut it out [you have 30 days, you can do it!].
What haven't you been doing at all that you should? TRY.
Make a new habit! Perhaps a healthy hobby?
Quit smoking.
Smile more.
Aim to wear that slinky summer dress or a fancy pair of slacks.
Do it today, and tomorrow, or Tuesdays and Thursdays, or weekends, do something, I know you can. Lets make August first a feel good day!
I wanna say, look what I did ... I finally started exercising ... and now I'm even thinner!
What will you brag about?
xoxo
Topic: I'm Back
Hi everyone,
I've been off the board for a while now, life has been crazy..(I won't go into it). I just passed the 15 month point and have now lost 171 lbs. I'm one pound from my surgeons original guess of the weight I could reach, BUT I would like to lose a little bit more. I've gone from 394 down to 221, but I would really like to see that ONEderland again. By the way I'm 6'1.
I also have a question, has any one else gone through this. I've had pain just below my right ribs, (the gall bladder is gone), for over a month now. They checked all the liver functions etc, then it got so I couldnt eat, then I couldnt keep liquids down. So they did a CT scan and said the loop that is made during the surgery is inflamed and fluid filled. So i was put in the hospital and a IV was put in they scoped me the next day and said yes, its inflamed but no ulcer. They sent me home with this chalky pink liquid and nexium. And a liquid diet. But i'm still having pain, and diarhea.
Any thoughts?
Cathy
Topic: Hiccups Follow Up
Hi -
I wanted to let you know I found out the cause of the hiccups. There are many layers, but basically I have erosion in my pouch and stomal ulcers. These are very serious and will cause a lengthly recovery. I'm under good care. I some bowel issues too.
Most of the cause of the ulcer is my own fault from using meds that I shouldn't have been for Migraines. I have a team of 3 dr's working with me and I have about 10 different rx's they sent me home with. IN the event I don't feel better in a few more days I have to go back and see the surgeon and they would consider going in again.
Which ofcourse, they don't want to do at this point. It will take some time to heal.
I"m very stressed out so I might need to get a med to help with that too.
Good things are on the horizion though. I will post more when my med's wear off.
Have a great weekend. Thanks for all the feedback.
Also, don't wait when you don't feel well. I keep doing this and it just hurts myself more.
