Me: What are your surgeon's recommendations regarding exercise? The original paperwork recommends 30 minutes a day of walking/getting your heart rate up. Are you exercising? No, I have an open wound where my incision was, I have been cleared to do my Gazelle, which I hope to start up today. I am still restricted from doing any abdominal exercise. How often? I am going to try to work up to daily, 30 minutes. What are you doing? I have a toddler, so we do get around a bit each day in the park or dancing around the house ... but I know that really doesn't count! The Gazelle is like a non impact walk. xosm

1) do it 2) not exclusively, and just for that purpose 3) n/a 4) I'm not doing an exercise regimen. Instead I'm trying to play a more active roll in life. Simple things like doing more housework, puttering in my garden, going out to walk the mall with my family, instead of staying home with a book. To be honest, I used to get hurt all the time from overdoing it, and don't plan to take a more active exercise plan into effect until I'm under 200lbs. When I was under 200lbs, before, I could do stuff, and not get injured. I also have arthritis in my ankles and hip, so I have to be careful. Just being able to do more, and participate, is reaching a goal, to me. Gosh

What are your surgeon's recommendations regarding exercise? My surgeon recommends 30 minutes of brisk walking a day. Are you exercising? Yes, During the work week I walk 30 minutes at 3.5 to 3.9 MPR. I'm working up to doing some jogging. On the weekend I do life style stuff, tennis, long walks, etc. How often? Daily

What are your surgeon's recommendations regarding exercise? * At least 3 days a week for 30 minutes Results: increased metabolism, fitness, better attitude, & increased weight loss Post Op: walk, walk, walk. Pool exercise is excellent. Can start abdominal exercises at 12 weeks. Are you exercising? *I'm trying to be consistent but no luck. I'm trying to get accustomed to my new environment. How often? What are you doing? *I was doing the aerobic striptease for 3-4 days a week as well as walking. Honestly, this move has thrown me off my routine...it sucks...I need to get back on track. BTW anyone have any suggestions on what other exercise I can do for my flabby arms besides lifting light weights? I hate weightlifting of any kind. Thanks! Elisa

Resistance bands...yea my friend mentioned those and she thought they were great too. Thanks! I'm going to look into buying some. I bought the DVD at Walmart. It's the Carmen Electra one. It's pretty good--I enjoy it. Elisa

Body Flex is great for the arms Elisa. Look it up online. It is a gymbar you use along with an instructional DVD. It works great! Rebecca
