Badgercare coverage?
Looking for some help. My younger sister is on Badgercare for insurance right now and we recently discovered it will cover the gastric bypass surgery. I have the done the research to find the qualifications for the coverage I am just merely curious if anyone out there has had badgercare cover their operation just so we could know some hurdles to maybe watch out for or dodge to keep this process going? She barely is 40 + on the BMI scale is only 21. However, she is seven years my younger and has been dieting with me since she was approximately 10 and can look at our family history (of what family we have left that hasn't passed away due to stroke, heart disease, or diabetes) and know that this is not a battle she wishes to battle. Nor do I want her to wait 10 years and be 30 and still be right where she and then decide to have the operation. She fortunately has no real health issues currently but I'm afraid this will prove to be unfortunate when trying to get the insurance company to cover her operation. Any info anyone can provide would be most helpful.
Also anyone in the Milwaukee area we are looking for a good physician that is good for recommending the operation -- any help?
