Protein Intake??

I'm 9wks post-op and I'm still having a hard time getting in all my protein. My surgeon requires I have 90grams and I'm averaging 45-55grams a day. Protein shakes are still disgusting to me but I make sure I have one a day which is 25-30grams. How many grams of protein have you been averaging a day? What have you all been doing to get in all your protein for the day? What types of protein are you drinking? Any protein receipes you could share? Thank you, Sylvia

Sylvia, I always make my protein count. I drink about eight glasses of skim milk a day (8 grams of protein each so 64 protein). Plus I take along string cheese or colby jack cheese chunks with me. Cheese is the only food that I found that I can eat and still drin**** water because I am thirsty and it doesnt make me sick. I usually eat 3 a day at 8g each. So I hit 88g without counting lunch or dinner. If I am out and I want a milk, I go to McDonalds because they have 1% milk for like 89 cents. I can drink skim milk now within a few minutes and not upset my stomach. I never have been a big milk drinker but, now I crave it. My nutritionalist said that with all the skim milk I drink and because of the water in it I am find with only 3 glasses of water a day as long as I take in 8 glasses of milk. I'm telling you I hate protein drinks and protein bars, but I love milk now and block cheese that I cut into cubes. They help me always get in my protein. Plus I just found the Body for Life chocolate mint bars OMG for an extra 15g of protein so I added that the other day!! Hugs, Sandy My typical day----I am always eating or drinking--docs say this will make me skinny and stay that way in the future. 6:30 glass of skim milk 7:30 0 sugars carnation instant breakfast with skim 12 8:30 cheese and water 9:30 milk 10:30 milk 11:30 lunch---a small amount of whatever I had the night before. 12:30 milk 1:30 cheese and water 2:30 peanuts 3:30 milk 4:30 milk 5:30 dinner 6:30 sfree tang slurpee treat-I just have tang and water and ice blended 7:30 cheese and water 8:30 0 sugars carnation instant breakfast with skim ------ I have found that I dont wake up hungry or feeling sick in the morning if I end the day with this drink. It must fill my belly for the night. I go to bed about 10ish.
