SO constipated!!!
I just wanted to say I totally agree with the nurse when i am constipated and I drink an 8oz glass of pure apple juice, I am on the toilet in about an hour and everything comes out smooth as silk. Sorry for being so gross, but it is true, I even give it to the kids if they are constipated and they go within an hour too. So you may want to try the juice before you go to all the expense of other things. Have a great day and hope things get moving soon for you!

WOW, it's so NICE to know that I'm not the only one! I have tried Smooth Move, and it works really well and tastes great. You drink it in the evening (make sure to let the tea steep for 10-15 mins before drinking it). And in the morning, presto, smooth sailing. But I think benefiber or a regular fiber source will work better for daily maintenence. Smooth Move is great for getting things going though, and very gentle.
I go 1-4 times a day. That is so much better than when I would pass out going to the toilet with my IBS.
The only advise I can offer comes from grandmother's cubbord.
1. Dill pickles or juice
2. Peporchini peppers, or juice
3. Highly greasy, deep fried food. (I know, not for us, but it is a remedy)
4. Rasin Bran cereal/ or some other bulk fiber source.
5. Not in the cubbord, but exercise and drink lots of water.

Hi Jen,
I experience the same thing. I drink a 1/2 cup of prune juice every other day and it helps alot. I do not go every day and according to my surgeon, that's typical (Remember we are not eating as much as before). Everyone is going to be different and will not go every day or even every other day.
