8 weeks post-op, and tired
Hi I am 8 weeks post-op ( I have lost 50 lbs) I am VERY tired by the end of my day I am ready for bed, and I can't sleep. I just got my g-tube last week, so I really can't exercise yet...... honestly I DO NOT feel up to it. My doctors tell me , that this is normal. I was wondering is anyone else feeling this way?

Hi Kimmie...
This is my first time posting on this board...I always post on the SC state board. I'm sooooooooo glad that one of the ladies on the SC board encouraged me to talk on my surgery date board.
I've felt the same way...actually I have good days and bad days...but I sleep like a log. I know from reading the other board, this is totally normal...and my Dr has told me that it is part of the healing process. Our bodies need time to adjust to all the changes.
I have been feeling much better as of late...I'm sure I will continue to feel better and better. So hang in there ok...it does get better.
Oh, I almost forgot are you getting the protein you need? Ny nutritionist says that women need 80 gr/day.

Hi Kimmie,
I don't know what a g-tube is??? Are you getting enough protein? When I feel sluggish, I always drink a carnation instant breakfast 0 sugars with skim milk and I know others drink the slim fast 0 sugars one. Don't kill yourself to exercise. I am at week 5 and I only walk, work, and take care of my baby. I am too tired to do much else yet but I am down 35. This is a life change and I know how it goes I will not always be able to work out so I do stay busy until bed. I don't loaf and I watch what I eat! Hugs and Kisses, Sandy
Your body has been through a tremendous change. Sometimes with the Lap, we get in our minds that it is not as serious as it really is. Even though we just have a few small incisions, we had MAJOR surgery. It takes our bodies a while to catch up.
Also, make sure you are getting in all your protein, water, vitamins, iron and B-12. They are all important to feeling well. Remember, we have to do things differently from here on out.
As for the exercise, when your energy levels come back up... you will move!
BTW... Congrats on the 50lbs!! That is great!
