June, I don't really keep track of my calorie intake. But the times I've used fitday.com it has estimated between 500-640. It's hard for me to keep track of my portions much less calories. For exercise I try to get out and walk almost everyday for about 20mins. 25#s is good...I"m already going into my 6th week and I've only lost 25#s. So I don't think your weightloss is slow at all . Keep up the good work! Elisa

Elisa, I am glad you responded saying you lost about the same as I, when you read post and people have lost 35 and 45 pounds in one month you think to yourself what am I doing wrong. The good thing about losing slow is in the end i don't think we will have sagging skin, ok not as much skin. keep up the good work june

June, your weight loss is right on track. Same with your calories though you should be counting protein not calories. I am still slightly short of my protein goals but I can go over 500-600 easily due to carbs. Barix told me this early out they expected me to make only 80% of total goal so I'm not getting nervous about that just yet. You're doing great June! Keep it up! J.

Thanks Jackie, I had the same problem you did with the soups, so i layed off of them. I'm hoping with the swimming that the weight loss will pick up. My protein is about 75 grams a day, I get in about 60 it is hard. keep moving june

You are doing great with your weight loss. I am over a month out (2/17) and have only lost 28 lbs. I have weighed the same for almost 2 weeks now, but it is okay. I know it will come off. Your's will too. I don't count calories right now either. I do exercise every day on the elliptical and just started using an aerobic step (which I swear is going to kill me, but that is another story ). I will probably join a gym soon, but haven't looked into that either. I have a home business so I always did manage to find reasons not to go to the gym. I look at it this way... I would not have lost this much weight without the surgery, and I am very happy for every pound that is coming off. I am eating a LOT less (obviously) and I feel great! I will be excited when the day comes that I have lost enough weight for my spine to be more normal and I can quit taking pain pills for my hip!! I know it will happen!! Keep up the good work!! Hugs, Deanna

June, I'm also losing at what I consider to be a slower rate. I heard so many 35 pounds the first month stories that I was kind of counting on it! I'm not quite a month out and have lost 17 pounds. My doctor says that the bigger loses come from folks who either had more to lose (I have over 100 for pity sakes) or who were really packing it on right before surgery. In other words, the fact that I followed a very strict plan for months before surgery makes my loss less now. But, as all the rest have said, keep moving, keep getting the protein, and keep enjoying each pound that comes off! Julie B

I don't know how many of you have checked out Fitday... But even if you don't keep it current you may get a bit of an education... I know I was really surprised to see how much protein I wasn't getting. I am also going to try to keep track of my liquids too so I can work on getting to that goal sooner as opposed to later !

Someone turned me on to fitday a week ago, I love it. I chart everything and I was surprise to see the protein as well. Now that I am swimming everyday I chart that as well. It seems that I am losing a pound a day now. After I came home from swimming me and my husband had some afternoon love before he went to work. and when we were done I charted that on fitday too. The funny thing was, as we was making love at one point I was wondering how many calories am I burning.....lol to funny everyone keep up the good work
