I'll be 6-weeks post-op this Thursday & I'm eating soft foods. How much are you guys eating at a meal? I'm allowed to eat 1-3 ounces three times a day; however, I noticed that sometimes I'm still hungry afterwards. I don't know what the timeline is to progress to 4 ounces, etc. Do you? Thanks for any input

I have no idea. I am 3 weeks out and I eat 4 oz. of soup over 30 minutes and then 30 minutes later I drink 8 oz. of liquid over 20 minutes. I drink 1/4 my drink every 5 minutes. When I eat regular soft mushy food, I eat a 1/2 oz every few minutes. I can always tell when I am getting toooo full because my nose tingles before I vomit. I'm an expert at vomiting because chicken doesn't like me and I dont get the hint plus I eat too fast. So these time limits are my new guidelines to me. Good luck. Hugs and Kisses, Sandy

Natalie, My doc told us 3-4 oz per meal. I am also 6weeks post op and my doc has me on solid regular food. I find that I am tapped out at two ounces. I think that once you get to the denser foods you will find that you may not be able to eat as much and it will keep you fuller longer. Its so funny how much the doctors differ in the diet progression.
