Group weigh in and report

I think we should start a group weigh in. I have been taking in numbers to average the weight loss of others. This will help me make reasonable goals for myself. I would like to start this at the beginning of the month for all of us February people. I saw the people from September 2005 do this. They started a data chart. So manyof them weigh in and are sticking together through this. Maybe that is why they are doing the best if you look month by month. It also helps people to see where they are and how much they have loss. I don't know if anyone can spreadsheet for us like Michael Malone did for the Sept 2005 people. The average weight loss for the 6 mo people are 74 lbs. Doing this kind of chart would help us see where others are, maybe realize when we need to change foods--maybe too much sodium if not losing and get others exercise ideas

Hmm that sounds like it would be a good idea but I have also heard--many, many times---Don't compare yourself with others because we all lose weight at different rates. I wouldn't want others to feel down about not losing as much as the next person because it may be that they are working at it just as hard and are not experiencing the same results. Although, I think your suggestion is a good idea, what do you think? How about measurements instead? Elisa

Yeah, I don't want to depress anyone. I just have been reading posts for other months and I saw this one guy and his post and how all the people are loving it. I did see from month to month that like I am 30 out after 3 weeks that I my body may halt the weight loss for 2 weeks and then the people who are only at 14 lbs. lost start to catch up. It seems that the farther along when you average everything out. It is like keep a goal of 14 a month so like now I have lost 30 and then next month I lose only 2 and the following month 12. The person who has steadily lost 14 a month is down 42 with me at week 12 or month 3. The average weight loss is 3.5 a week for those in their 6 month. I was inspired looking and reading from that group. Most of them are around 75 lbs lost. So that is my goal I just wanted to make it attainable. We could do measurements whatever anyone wants. Best wishes! Hugs and Kisses, Sandy

Hi, Sandy can you give me the link to the chart you mentioned? That way I can see what you are talking about. Thanks! Elisa

Go to the Sept 2005 surgery date in the blue section of this page and then select Its that time again by Michael Malone. He has 36 people or more doing this. They seem to keep checking and weighing in. It seems to keep them on their toes. I checked other sites and no one was doing this. Plus they are doing better than others at 6 mo. I think because they are staying on it and people are staying with asking for help. I think Feb. 2006 group needs to do something like this to. We are all in this together. Hugs and Kisses, Sandy

I am great with excel i could give it a go just send me the ink and tell me how many people we will be tracking. I agree it sould not depress people. Cause like myself i am a smaller wls candidate and a larger one will lose faster than me. Or thoses who can excersise lose more or less because they are gaining muscle mass. but all in all i think its a great idea and we could also incorperate measurements as well. Let me know i will start working on it. I need a good project. Real Estate is slow lol. J

Julie that would be awesome!! Check out that Michael Malone site and see what you think. I think his is way in depth. Much more than we probably need> I would love to see this work and maybe we could all unify in the process and in what 6 months still have 36 people like he has who are bonded by our experience. Hugs and Kisses, Sandy

I think it is better to report what you have eaten that day and keep track of your fluids. I had for breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack, high prtein shakes and liquid count. maril

I can understand about not being able to compare myself to anyone else but I WAS SO THANKFUL when others who had their surgery in February were mentioning the scale stall around three weeks. I was almost at the point of tears when that darn scale wasn't moving. But hearing that others were having the same problem made me realize that I wasn't doing anything wrong and that it was totally normal. So I vote "LETS DO IT !" I haven't looked at the Sept chart but when you get the one for us set up let me know and I will forward my info. Thank you whoever is going to do for taking the time !!
