Hi everyone, I am one month post-op and have lost 36lbs. Yeahhhh!!!! My only problem is that all of that weight came off in the first two weeks. My doc had me on fluids for two weeks and then puree for 4. As soon as I started on the puree, the weight loss stopped. I am eating 3-4oz meals a day and 1/2 water based protein shake at night to get my protein grams (fat free shake). I can't tolerate a full 4 oz meal but do pretty well on fat free chili and refried beans and soft eggs. Anyone have any similar experience?

Hey! I did the same thing over the past week!! The dietician told me to watch my soups (they were too high in sodium). I also realized I was not drinking the water that I was used to because I had switched to skim milk to add the protein. Plus I was eating processed not block cheeses. Hope this helps. I had gained some of the weight I lost the first two weeks back and now in just three days since my visit I retook it off and 5.5 more. I was getting on the scale too much. So I am weighing in every Monday and Friday. I thought this would make me more accountable!! Hugs and Kisses Sandy

It'll come off. Be patient. We're in this for the long haul. The first month is the hardest and I think we retain water, we hold on to so much (including stress). You are doing awesome! Jen

Stephanie, I had the same problem as Sandy, the soups. Since pureed I'm having to watch the sodium big time. Seems like if I don't cook it from scratch w/o salt I screw myself up. I had lost 30 at 1 month and nothing the past week. The 1st plateau is rumored to happen between weeks 4 and 6 and I think it's here. I can notice my clothes fitting better though so I think the inches are shrinking. I'll take that instead, for now. Hope you see something soon. Jackie

I had surgery 2/9, so I'm almost 6-weeks out and I'm already at my second plateau. How frustrating!! I think soup might be the culprit after reading the other posts. I do tend to gravitate towards salty foods. I'll have to keep an eye on this and up the water intake. You're not in this alone.
