Has anyone else been moved to solid foods yet? What are you eating?

At four weeks, my doctor moved me from soft food to a regular diet. My nutritionist is not very helpful and the information she has given us is not too complete. Is anyone else out there starting on regular foods? If so, what are you eating.

Hi Tammy, I have not moved on yet to regular foods (although I have tried some at my own risk ). I am going to be a month out on Monday. I just wanted to share with you an OH profile that might help you out. If you scroll down you will see sample menus: http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/profile.php?N=C1090331797 Hope this helps! Elisa

Hey, I have been on solids for a week now. Be careful you tend to eat tomuch caus eyou forget you had surgery and what you think is not alot is alot to new tummy. Also, i have yet to eat bread. Do your own thing but why waste valuable tummy space on such a waste of nutrents. I eat alot of fish. I found i can eat 4 small shrimp steamed or boiled. the most important advice i can give you is eat a bite walk away and go back to it, I found that helps me not over eat, Good Luck! Julie

i AM 4.5 WEEKS OUT and I have been eating soft foods and each week adding new foods to try per surgeons directions. I eat refried(nonfat) with a little cheese on it. Chili beans mild with beef, 1/2 cup. cottage cheese, 1/2 cup, yogert unflavored with sweetner and no sugar flavor,( 8/ 0z.) string cheese with a piece of turkey slices around it. 2 high protein shakes. I've tried nuts( peanut butter and cashews and do ok) but will use sparingly. I've tried beef jerkey but figured there was sugar in it so I will make my own. I've tried salad but find it hurts my gut so I'm waiting on that. I've eaten tuna, fish, a little chicken, and a little beef hamburger. done ok. I do ok on cooked squash, and I've put several strawberries in my shakes. I had banana in the beginning but I don't have it now. I use sugar free syrups to flavor my high protein shakes. Oh I can eat one egg. And I have had whole wheat cereal malt-o-meal hot with sweetner. No milk I'm loosing slow so I have to perfect w hat I can eat. hope this helps Maril
