Cynthia, I'm sorry you're having such pain. I know it's tough right now, but it WILL get better. Daily. I'm in week four and finally feeling human again. take it easy. Tracey

Ya know I didn't have any staples on the outside.. Did you have the surgery open or lapriscopicly??(splg?) I had it done lapri... and I have found that around my incisions if I put some Aveeno lotion it helped it not to itch so bad..Hope this halps out! Good Luck!

I had my surgury on Feb 6th. I slept the first week at home in a recliner also. My surgury was done laproscpically so I did not have staples either. Though my incissions have iched. I got some Gold Bond cream and it really helped. I am doing much better now though. I hope you feel better soon. Huggs Julie

I had my surgery on the 20th also! I am not having the same problem though, i dont have staples. What I found out to be easier is not to lay down, I have a reclining chair that I have slept on, and it makes it easier, I did try to lay down and I had pain too. Last night, I was able to sort of lay down on the couch. Boy that felt great. Good Luck, Jenn

Well...I had surgery on 02-06-06. I was itching like a mad woman when I got home. I also had those damn steri-strips all over me. I think they are what caused the itching. They sent me home with liquid Lortab and it helped! The most severe pain came when I tried to get out of my bed or roll over. OMG...thought I was gonna die one night. I didn't have anyone to help me and literally felt trapped in my own bed. I layed there for 30 minutes and just cried. Finally, I figured out how to get my cpap off of me, scoot to the other side of the bed and FINALLY get up. I had to make a plan, I put the belt to my robe around my headboard and up between the mattress and the headboard. This way I could grab that belt and use it to help me get up. They should have sent you home with some pain meds. If they did not or you have run out CALL THEM! I was also told that I could take LIQUID Tylenol. When I was "weening" off the pain meds, I would use the Tylenol. I really helped me. (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) Tammy
