2/28 surgery poss on hold???!!

Some thoughtful person at SBC (my former employer) cancelled my medical insurance (that I have via COBRA) on February 15, despite my having sent in the premiums. They are checking into it and will get back to me by tomorrow afternoon. (I'm holding MY breath). If it's not "sorted out" by Monday night, surgery is off. I'm SO frazzled. I'm can't stop shaking and want to cry. A lot. Think good thoughts for me. Julie

Julie, I'm so sorry to hear about your insurance difficulty. I know this must be extremely stressful. Try not to worry -- you paid the premiums, I'm sure it will be resolved in time. Be strong!! Diann

Julie, Keep us posted. I also had a scare with my insurance. After being told several times that I was a go and no problem, they sent out a rejection notice a week before my date: Feb 27th. I called the Dr. office and had them hold off on changing anything while I made a myriad of calls. I finally got someone who took responsibility and said I was supposed to be covered, etc. As it turned out I found out at 2:30 Friday afternoon that all was approved and okay. Anyway....I know how nerve wracking it is to not be able just to concentrate on preparing yourself for the surgery but to also have it up in the air and at the whim of bureaucracy.
