Had lap RNY January 9,2006. My weight started coming off slow then started speeding up rapidly in the past week. I had only lost 19 lbs after a month and now it has all of sudden jumped to 27 lbs total in the last 2 weeks. Has anyone else's weight been that slow in the beginning? Everything I've read showed better progress and the doctor even commented on how slow my weight loss was progressing but told me not to worry about it because some just lose at a slow pace the entire time and I really hope that's not going to be the case for me.

I thought mine was slow too, but when I went in for my 2 week check up, I had surgery on the 6th, I have lost 30lbs in 2 weeks!! I think that everyone is different and you can't really compare yourself to someone else's weight loss. Keep up the good work, I think that 27lbs is great! Good luck sweetie and take care!! Love, Kennie

I don't know if it related but my body holds on tightly to water, even the nurses in the hospital commented on it. Maybe yours does too and it's finally realized something has changed and is releasing it. It's only got one way to go....down...no matter how it does it.....isn't that a good feeling??? Jackie
