I'm finally a loser !!
I had open Roux N Y surgery at Dartmouth hospital in NH on February 8 and feel great ! It was a long surgery as my doctor found a lethargic illieum when he went in. He said food and liquid was sitting in my illieum not moving, not chewed, just sitting there for years ! Gross ! After he took care of that, he went and did the Roux N Y. Severe diarrhea for 5 days after, lots of bags of potassium on my IV pole, many showers later, I'm home after 8 days. I'm on the Stage II diet, full liquids and go onto Stage III March 1 and can't wait. I would do it again and look forward to exercising this summer. I swim each morning and miss it. Right now, with my incision healing, there is no swimming for another couple of weeks but anxious to get back to it. I'm down 37.2 pounds since surgery and can zip a new coat I bought that didn't zip ! That's exciting to me. Still tire easily but try to walk every day. Any exercise is better than none. Good luck to all of you, happy health, Ava
