Four Days Post-Op

I am four days post-op and I have lost 6 lbs. since my surgery on Thurs. 2/16. Is this normal?

Hi Essindy, Did you lose weight before surgery? I lost 13 lbs before surgery on a liquid diet, and by my one week check up I'd only lost 3 lbs. I was MAD! I told me doc if I didn't start losing more than that he could give me back my stomach and order me a cheeseburger! He told me some people don't lose any the first week because of fluids the hospital pumps into you plus just the shock of surgery. Since then I've lose a lb to a half a pound a day for a total of 16 lbs post op. 29 since the week before when I started the liquid diet. Next week I bet you really start losing a lot! I didn't lose weight before the surgery. In fact, I gained a little. That's why I'm so surprised about the 6 lbs. I haven't lost weight since the summer.

Essindy, I lost about 10 lbs before surgery during the liquid diet and since surgery I have dropped an additional 6 lbs. I have just started my protein phase and 30 mins of cardio this week so I am hoping for a big drop by the end of the week!

Hi ! I am 8 days post op and I have lost 11 lbs since my surgery on 2/16. I lost 7 lbs while I was on the liquid diet for 3 days prior to surgery, so I have a total of 18 lbs lost in 11 days! crazy !!! : ) everone's body is different... just hang in there, it will come off !!!!
