Sipping water and Protein Shakes
I am a week out and I know we are supposed to wait 30 minuted after meals before we start sipping water again. My question is, do we need to wait 30 minutes after water to start a shake, because with all this down time, I am having a hard time getting what I need in. I am not terribly worried, as I am only a week out, but I just wanted to know how others did this...
I have to start my day with water, due to still needing meds for nausea and my dose of Pepcid and these need to be taken BEFORE foods.
Help a newbie out.
Thanks,
Tiffany
I am about a week out too, I had my surgery on the 6th. What I do is get up in the morning and take my vitamins and other meds that I have to take. I drink 2 oz of Low Carb Slim Fast and then after that I wait a bit and then I start to sip on my water. I ordered some protein drinks an idea I got from another Gastric Bypass surgery and they swear by it and it works and has u feeling back to normal!!!!!
I just sip sip sip all day and when I eat something like soup or whatever I do wait the 30 mins!
I hope this helps...good luck!

Kennie

Hey Tiffany,
I am 9 days post op. And I was having a terrible time with liquids and protien. I bought a thing of unflavored unjury. And I add one scoop to 1/2 cup or less of those Campbell's cream soup. It works best for me. I just get it in and over with. Then I don't have to worry about it taking so long to drink that whole cup of protien drink. I'm so sick of chocolate. Good luck Sandi
