What a great post: 1) How do you feel coming up on your 1 year anniversary? a bit more indifferent then I expected, but at the same time, I feel good, I'm glad that the weight loss part of this journey is more then 75 percent over. 2) How is life different for you? I'm not sure, some things have remained the same (which is disappointing) and somet things have changed. I work out more, am more conscieous of what I eat, and am much more confident about how I look. 3) Would you do it all over again? Yes, in a heart beat. 4) how much have you lost (if you want to share) 234 lbs since Feb 17th (254 if you include the amount I lost the 4 weeks before surgery) 5) How much more do you have to go till goal? Which goal? I have 8 more lbs to my 1 year goal, I have about 40 more lbs to my I'd be ok at this weight goal, and about 63 more lbs till i get to my ultimate 175 BMI chart "perfect" goal. 6) What's the best thing that's happened since WLS I can cloths shop and buy cloths that look good on me. This may be shallow, but hey...who said it had to be something deep. 7) What's the worst thing since WLS? Things that I thought would get better didn't. This is the "best" and worst thing that happened to me. It's forcing me to realize not all my problems were weight related, and I'm having to face my life for the first time. Scott

I have not reached my one year goal, my goal was to lose 100lbs, I'm around the 80ish ballpark. I want to lose 20-40 more, however, this will require alot of work. 1) How do you feel coming up on your 1 year anniversary? I feel ok, it is my mom's birthday on my 1 year anniversary, It makes me happy and sad at the same time. 2) How is life different for you? I don't have high blood pressure and I physically have reaped the benefits. I am healthier. 3) Would you do it all over again? Yes, with the exceptions of having alot of guilt and I've had two serious complications crop up within weeks of each other. Both resulting in serious complications and still searching for answers. 4) how much have you lost (if you want to share) 80ish pounds, I was barely near 100lbs over weight, but I did have the BMI and Comorbidities that qualified me. 5) How much more do you have to go till goal? 20-40ish depending on where my BMI lies. 6) What's the best thing that's happened since WLS? I am healthier and do feel better. 7) What's the worst thing since WLS? My recent complications. I also have lowers self esteem and feel like I need to hide myself. I also realized I do not love myself. THere are way more head issues that have developed since the gastric bypass surgery. I don't like the attention my weightloss has drawn. I will see how things are next month and when I finaly get some answers as to why I feel so bad.

I have 3 weeks until my one year anniversary and I have lost a temendous amount of weight. Not to goal but I had more to lose than most people. I started at 440 and am now 266. Never in my life would I have dreamed to lose 174 pounds....and going. I've lost my evil twin. I feel fantastic! I cannot even explain it. Life is different for me physically, I fit in the car, I fit in a booth at a restaurant, I fit in a lawn chair, I am in an XL instead of 6x. People smile at me now instead of being disgusted. I have made a lot of new friends, I have inspired so many people that I know...that in itself is wonderful. I would like to get to 200 so I have 66 more to go. I am tall and need to be around 200 or so. If I lose more that's ok too. The best thing that has happened is I feel a freedom to enjoy life. In this past year, I have gotten back on my bicycle and rode miles....I've joined a gym and go 4 or 5 days a week. I love it. I feel so good if I exercise...mind you I get up at 4:30am to do this....now that's dedication. Did I mention my relationship with my husband. Since I have lost weight everywhere, things are more exciting.....it' always been really great but now...wow! The worst thing well, one of the first times I looked in the mirror at a store when trying on clothes was to say the least an experience. When the fat starts to break up it's just not pretty and then when my hair had it's all at once cycling, that was disconcerning. But those were temporary things and I can see my legs thinning down and my hair is thickening back up.
