Plastic Surgery
Since I am coming up on my year out (2/24/2007) from surgery I thought I would check into plastic surgery to remove the excess skin. My insurance will more than likely not pay for this procedure. I just got a estimated quote back from one of the doctors of $18,950.00 dollars. This of course if I have it done will come out of my pocket and if that is the case I most likely will not do it or at least not any time soon. It's a shame that after doing all that we have in order to loose our weight the insurance companies will not support us in completing the journey. I also have two other surgeries that are taking priority over the plastic surgery. I have a rotator cup torn in two places with bones spurs and my breast bone has grown outward which the doctor told me I could have it fixed if it bothers me which it does. My insurance will pay for those surgeries.
I saw the plastic surgeon yesterday. He thinks insurance will pay for my tummy because I'm having problems with rashes and infections. I'm having serious problems with my armpits too. He doesn't think insurance will pay for the arms. But, if they do pay for the tummy and he can do the arms at the same time, he will do the arms for about $2,000. I could afford that.
The surgeon was REALLY surprised at how tight my abs are. He said he wouldn't need to tighten the muscles at all.
I should know something in about 2-3 weeks.

I plan to see the plastic surgeon as soon as I get money for the consult. I have an incisional hernia so I will at least get my tummy tuck covered. I also need a breast lift. I have been referred to a doc in Manhattan who comes highly recommended and was also told he will try to get it all covered. I could probably use arms and thighs too, but I care less about those. I haven't had a flat tummy since my 20's, so I am really looking forward to that part.
