I'm bored...

I've watched two back to back hours of The King of Queens. I find this show so funny. I am getting cabin fever, last week my husband and daughter were sick and it took it's tool. Now, I'm sitting here with about 18 stitches in my belly. I love to read, but the words start moving around when I'm laying down. I am needing my pain medicines so I take them. This might be able to account the moving words on the paper. I want to do stuff, but I cannot. I was told today by the disability people I can have up to 4 weeks off, as of right now. I really could use sometime off and rest time, but not at this cost. I work with 8 difficult women and the person whom I spoke with actually tried to give me a guilt trip about leaving and having surgery. She kept insinuating that I knew of this before Tuesday. I wouldn't have come to work if I knew I had a hernia and needed emergency surgery. I need to stay out of work for a minimum # of days to get all my time paid off. I'm sure I'd take some crap from the boss once I return. Oh well... I'm still kinda bored though. I am greatfl for everything I've been through and still glad I got my WLS and don't regret a minute of it. I'd love to finish my tiding around my house, because my husband is domestically challenged. I hope you can tell them to take a flying leap. With your disability they will have to hold your job, right? So enjoy the time off. Clean, destress, take in a few movies! xosm

Hi Jen, I know the boredom can get to you...but you need to remember to take care of yourself. Don't worry about those mean women at work. Speaking from experience, they are just not happy with themselves and seem to need to take it out on whoever seems to make them look bad in their eyes. The ladies I dealt with, were the same. I had an injury to my hip yet they made me worsen it through guilt. I kept bringing my supervisor doctors notes but these mean ladies just spoke out of turn, as if I were faking the injury...at one time I was in a car wreck and had to be off from work and I brought in photos of my car and the one lady said...oh my wreck was worse my car was more mangled and I didn't have to have time off....Just some jealous evil spirited people in this world. But there is hope... Now some twenty years later, they have both told me how sorry they are for how they treated me. I kept a sweet spirit about the situation and eventually good does prevail over them. People who know you and know them will know the difference believe me. You just take care of yourself and when you go back to work, smile do your job and let the gossip go. It's not worth it. If it gets out of hand, it may be time to change jobs or take it up with human resources. That sort of stuff is called a hostile work environment and they can get disciplined or fired over it. So take it easy...
