Hi all! Well today I am 194...17 lbs to go to doctor's goal of 177 but I had set my personal goal at 150...I dont think I am going to make that by 1 year but it would be nice to at least make it to my surgeon's goal. I know I would be loosing more if I would just be more proactive about exercise. With a full-time job, a husband, 5 children and going to school at night, I hardly have the time let alone the energy I need for exercise. I will have to be more diligent and strive for a few minutes of exercise each day. Way to go everyone! Loretta

Hey Loretta, There is a book called the 8 minute work out...i think it's by bob greene (he's been on oprah before). Anyway he has workouts that you can do at home in just 8 minutes every morning. I know it's 8 minutes with 5 kids may be like 1 hour....but it's something you might think about if you haven't seen it. Good luck on reaching your goal. Scott

Thanks for the info on that book Scott...I will have to look it up. I know that some exercise is better than no exercise. I have a treadmill and exercise bike and I know that even a few minutes a day helps...I will do better this month.

My trainer tells me all the time that cardio (treadmill, bike and stuff like that) should start at 10 minutes and be no more then 30 minutes. He says if you can do it more then 30 minutes your not doing it at a high enough intensity. He's trained some of NY's most famous sports stars, and says that at the intesity that he works them at, at the end of 30 minutes they are spent. He had me on the step master yesterday a 1/2 hour (i couldn't do any weight lifting because I strained my shoulder the day before)...and he had me on a high level (level 8) for 13 mintues straight...i thought i was gonna drop, but I suprisingly was able to do most of it...lol. I'm really grateful to God that he's given me a trainer, it helps me focus and gets me working out even when I'm not in the mood, because I know I "HAVE" to go...because I have an appointment. Scott

well I gained 5 pounds. This week. I tracked everything and worked out much harder than prevouisly. I hope it is jus****er weight as I recently started taking creatine suppulements. I did add 40 lbs to my bench press over the past week and lost 2 inches off my waist so I am looking on the positive. My friends told me they thought I had lost another 20 lbs and that I am looking good. Which I had their rosy glasses. was down to 221 now up to 226lbs. was below goal for one week. Doug.

Hey Doug, It sounds like you put on some water weight and some muscle weight. Both of which will skew the scale. But if your tracking yoru food and working out the scale has to eventually go down. Scott
