1 Year Crunch week 1
Hey everyone,
Thanks for posting to the one year crunch post....how are you all doing?????? Are you eating better? Trying to work out more? what steps have you taken this week to reach your goals?
Me: My starting goal was to lose 40 lbs by the time I hit my 1 year anniversary.
Starting weight: 466
This week: 461
Total lost: 5 lbs!!!!!
Ok so 5 lbs down 35 more to go. I've cut carbs out for the most part and have been working out with my trainer 3 times this week. Although I have to admit, I did have a cookie attack after working out today. I ate this gigantic rocky road cookie...YIKES!!! It was a really hard work out...so I deserved a treat??? lol...at least thats my story and i'm sticking to it.
Look forward to hearing from all of you winners out there.
Scott
PS if you haven't posted your goal....and want to get in on the action....set a goal to reach before you hit one year.
Hey forget about the weight ...you followed program and worked out 10 miles!!! thats awesome.
YOU GO GG.

BTW ...if you've been doing the tread mill for a while, you need to vary the program to give you the maximum amount of effectiveness. Most treadmills have preprogramed workouts...my trainer changes mine everytime I work out with him (he has me on the step master).

Thanks, Scott. I am by no means feeling sorry for myself. I can feel myself getting stronger with each work out. I have been upping the pace, and throwing in some spurts of running [which amazes me!] and I am right on top of my heart rate to make sure I am in the best fat burning range. I can also vary the incline, but since I am still new to this [it's really only been a little over 2 solid weeks that I have been consistent] my goal for now is to just keep on keepin' on! After 28 days then I will see what I can change up. I can't wait, really CAN'T WAIT till my hernia is repaired and I can take some classes ... IMAGINE me kickboxing or yoga or Pilates and BELLY DANCING is probably first on my list.
I am also starting the search for a PS. I would like to go on a few consults to see what THEY say as far as how much I need to lose.
Do you have an elliptical at your gym? I tried one at the gym of the hotel we stayed at a few weeks ago and it was super hard. I hear it is a great work out.

My gym as the ellipticals and the cross trainer ellipticals (the ones with the arm exercises). I love them both....as with any exercise it gets easier as you do it. My trainer has me on the stepper because he says it forces you to lift your body weight which causes you to build muscle and bone density. Plus again he likes to change things up a bit, he had me on an eliptical for months.
Personally I like the elliptical better......i actually enjoy doing it. It's relaxing to me.

I think someday I would like the elliptical, but just starting out it seems hard. The last time I lost weight I was running almost every day and I know it works for me. I will be excited if I can get up to that pace again. Right now I'm pushing a hard walk and my heart rate is good, but like you say, it does seem to get easier [which makes me smile because I know I'm getting stronger].
I enjoy doing the treadmill while I watch hockey. On the nights there is no hockey, or when I want to go longer and the period is over I get bored. My mom swears by audio books. She and I have different tastes in books, though, so I suppose I'd have to find something I like myself. She did give me that James Frey book, I found the voice reading it super annoying. I wish I could read my trashy romance books while I do the treadmill, but my boobs are just too bouncy:P
It's nice that you can go to the gym with a trainer and just focus on exercise.
Aren't we just posting fools tonight? I had better get the dishes done before it's tomorrow already.

Thats just 31 lbs...you can do it Rie Rie!!!
Exercising isn't as hard as we make it out to be...just pop in an exercise video or go for a short walk. I remember susan powders a long time ago said that we just need to move and breath. It's holiday time....you could just go walking around the mall.

{IMO} Without a goal we're just aimlessly wandering back towards the buffet table ...
You can do it, Marie!
I kept hearing about the 10000 steps and bought a pedometer and am SORELY shy of that goal -- seriously, I don't think you can get less steps staying in bed all day than I do, I don't know how I manage to get ANYwhere. I'll get there one step at a time if I have to.
