I DID IT!!!!
The other day on the TV they were talking about everyone thinking that taking fiber helps with constipation. WRONG.... Sometimes more fiber is actually binding and not a good thing.
I have found "great relief" from Magnesium Citrate. You can get it at any drug store and it has been the one real thing that I have found that helps. I use a dixie cup for the first dose and if within a few hours it isn't enough, I take another dose. Usually getting 3 doses from a bottle. It is a staple in my fridge... It doesn't taste great but it does work ! (Make sure that you take it long enough that you are totally cleaned out...) I haven't ever gotten cramps or any of the other "normal" side effects so... Yeah! Good for you! My nutritionist told me to get this stool softener I forget the brand name but I just bought the Walmart brand cause it was the same thing just cheaper. Fortunately, I haven't had to use it yet. She gave us a few ideas at our last support group meeting and that was to add a tsp of granola or something like that to our yogurt or just to try to add in peanuts or wheat cereal or something like that. I keep a jar of peanuts at home and they do help me. Anyway, I'm proud of ya!
