It really depends. If it's yogurt, I can eat a 6 ounce thing of it, slowly. If it's something more substantial, like chicken salad, I can only eat a couple ounces, maybe 2 1/2. Um, let's see, I tried to eat a whole apple; can't do that yet. Fills me right the heck up. This is a sample menu from my recent camping trip: B- 6 oz SF yogurt & 1 oz cheese S- 2 oz. (1/4 cup) shelled ranch sunflower seeds L- South Beach Diet Meal Replacment bar (Cinnamon Creme) S- Slim Fast High Protein Shake (chocolate) D- 1 oz. Hormel Turkey Pepperoni & 1 oz. colby jack cheese AND 1 oz. apple cinnamon soy chips That gave me 900-and some calories (almost 1000) and more than 70 grams of protein. That's not too bad for a camping trip meal plan, if you will! So, you see, it depends on the person and their new princess (or prince) pouch. I kinda enjoy being able to not eat a lot of ounces, but that's just me. Jen Halliday

It depends. Sometimes I can eat a cup and a 1/2 of food easily...or more. Sometimes a few bites and I am full. But when I was weighing my food for a while-I was consistently eating about 4 oz solid, dense food, like chicken. I think I have always eaten more than others. Kayla 230/140/135

Again, it depends on the softness/moisture of what you are eating. I almost always combine my meats with something moist to make them go down easier. Dry stuff sticks in me and is very uncomfortable in my back between my shoulder blades (not my front). I don't get the "full" feeling, never have, so I measure. I can do a cup of chicken salad easily on lettuce w/veggies and dressing. (I may split it into 2 of my 6 meals.) I could eat 2 6oz. yogurts if pressed for protein. I can eat an entire lean cuisine no problem. Filet mignon I now eat med. rare instead of well so its super juicy of which I can eat a 3oz. piece w/mash and mush and onions. That's my favorite and the closest I get to feeling full.

I'm on vacation and using the internet from my hotel room. I couldn't handle it much longer without my OH!!!! The amount I can eat depends on what I'm eating. I easily ate 6 oz of chili on Thursday. Today, I ate 1/2 of a bratwurst and thought I was going to die. I think it was the bun. It felt like a rock was stuck in the middle of my chest. Now, when I'm not on vacation, I eat differently. I can usually split a lean cuisine into two lunches. I eat about 4 oz at a time as a general rule. I can tell when I've eaten too much. I get that rock in the chest feeling. I listen to my body now. I can tell when I'm getting full. I've been know to spit out what I'm chewing when I feel that full feeling sneaking up. I don't like the rock feeling at all!!!

Wow I must be over eating because I can eat a 8oz Breyers light probiotic formula yogurt . Then I can eat about 3-4oz of chicken and a 1 cup of green beans. It takes me longer to eat but not the yogurt!!! I can eat that in 15 minutes!! I went to see my doctor on the 11th and she said I should only be eating 3 meals a day with no snacks and just drink water, water, water. I get so many mixed answers! I am starting to get confused!!! The only thing I can say to you is to listen to your body when it is time to put the fork down and drink lots of fluid. Good luck Stephanie

I agree i too get alot of information. I try to mix and match what i think is right. but who am i lol. I DO NOT under any cir****tance eat BREAD or RICE! They were my weakness and i just dont do it. I do eat potato's and right now on a kick of sweet potato's. I have cut out pasta cause i think i was out of control with it. I eat my protien first and i try to get in veggies and fruits. Sometimes i think i can eat a whole lot then the next thingi know i cant eat anything. and certain foods fill me up fast like the protien special K i can only eat a lil bi of that and i am stuffed. I do eat snacks if i get to the point were i am starvign i will eat to fast then throw up and i hate that so i do not get to that point. i think for me i am doing what i can and trying to gather information and make it all work for me i think everyone is differant. I have a friend (i do not sujest this and will never get to this point) but she eats snack food all day long 4 years out never gained back and eats like a horse then i had one friend who drank so much and gained all her weight back. so i try to listen and learn we all have dif bodies and we all will lose and keep it off differantly. I think if we just follow the basic rules. 1. protien first 2. drink drink drink WATER 3. watch grazing and $ exercise we will do the best we can! good luck!
